    Evening

I've come home to a letter from my (old) bank saying that my overdraft will not be renewed from the 1st July. I take it this is normal practice. However, will the charges start mounting here? The bank is Santander. I haven't heard anything else from them, although my cc with them has postponed any action for the time being.

All DD's are cancelled so nothing is coming out only the CCCS payment will be going in. Should I worry or just let things take their course?

    Wow this is unsettling.

    Hi Eyeopener!

Santander have been really good with me while I've been setting things up, they've kept me informed of when they are going to apply charges and they stopped interest and charges as soon as they got my notification of DMP letter. Actually, I think they stuck like £6 of interest which dated back to the previous month but nothing after that. For me, they have been by far the easiest to deal with!

    :hello: Morning lovelies!

Have been looking forward to today - only working the lunchtime shift so I've finally got an evening off :j!! Am off to Tesco after work to buy lots of lovely (cheap :D) bath stuff and will be setting up residence in the bathroom with War and Peace for a proper relaxing soak!

I got the tyre fixed yesterday - my wonderful, lovely Daddy helped me out with that one :) I introduced a couple of clients to him so he paid to fix my tyre - I LOVE reciprocal agreements like that, win win, everyone happy :D only downside was that "hunky Kwik Fit man" wasn't working yesterday so I had to have "!!!! hanging out more chunky than hunky Kwik Fit man" to fix it, but hey - I got a free crappaccino :rotfl:

Couldn't find the signature letter yesterday because my internet went wonky so the plan for today is find that and send it and then work and then I'm going to go to open a savings account at the local credit union for my Christmas fund.

Hope everyone has a good day, and that the sun is out for someone somewhere! xxx

    Hello peeps

Just a quicky, grabbing a few mins on the net while DS is asleep. poor thing has caught the cold thats working its way round, was up most of the past two nights, so big dark circles are my lastest look. Thank goodness for VSL touch thingy!!

Mikon seems like you been having an awful time, hope it starts quieting down soon. Ive been quite lucky, I moved before starting all this and never gave out my new number. Daft idiots are probaly ringing a dead line :rotfl: Hang in there.

True Ive been looking at gym/swim memberships as well. DS cant stand the freezing cold local pool and he needs lots of water therapy and I need to get fit. Probably wouldnt be able to if we didnt have his carers allowance mind. Makes me feel a bit less guilty knowing its for a good cause :D:D

Hope everyone else is ok, the suns out and Ive managed to do some weeding, so feel very good with ones self :A

    Catch you all later

How much more can one take.

Received letter from NEXT saying that the £1 token payment i made was unacceptable they would accept £5 but only for 3 months and if I did not meet the minimum payment then my debt would be passed to an external DCA.

On the plus side CCCS rang me this morning and informed me that they would be contacting all my creditors today and making them an offer. I mentioned the call from CITI and they said I could complain if I wanted.

I also mentioned External DCA and CCCS said they had good working relationship with most of the DCAs in the UK.

So I think I will wait to see what next say about CCCS offer.

Bit of a hairy week just hope things settle down now for the weekend. But I would not hold my breath on it.

    Hey Mikon,

Sorry to hear you've had a carp couple of days. Well done to the OH:T it takes some nerve to speak to the idiots. They're blatenly on commission. i had one that said would you like to pay of your £16000 debt with us. I laughed at them!:rotfl::rotfl:

Easy for me to say but try not to worry about Next and don't pay the extra. They will get a little more when the CCCS sorts out your payments. Be strong and as my OH says HOLDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! thats when i want to spend money hehehe!
also repeat after me 'they can't have what you haven't got'

    Have a good afternoon G x

Tedsd thanks for the reassurance but they o not even mention the word may they say

"I can confirm that the above terms are not met, the outstanding amount will transfer to an external debt collection agency, However, statements and arrears letters will continue to be sent until this action is taken."

All this hassle for a debt of £249 I wonder if the DCA will make a full and final offer to me.

Like you say at least the interest is stopped and CCCS inform me they have good relationships and work or have worked with every DCA in the UK.

    So far

CITI - Not a pleaseant experience and a default notice.

NEXT - DCA Threat no default notice though

See what tomorrow brings I must say if you do not stand your ground these companies could quite easily drive people to suicide especially if the are dealing with their problem alone. Fortunately I am not a problem shared is a problem halved.

    Best wishes to all.

Mikon, most of us on here who have accounts with next have been treated OK. In your case its probably just them getting the token before being contacted by CCCS. Once I was able to tell them what they would be offered, they accepted.

To anyone: From my own experiences, if your payment is due before your letter of DMP is processed or before CCCS have notified them, then it seems more likely that you will get harrassing calls or letters. It might be a good idea to get in there first, call them and request the 30 or 28 days (not sure which) of no calls/charges until the DMP is set up IYKWIM?

(all this from the nutter who bought truecall then dialled 1471 every half hour to see if anyone called:rotfl::rotfl:)

I have wrote to next on 3 occasions now 1st letter was to explain my situation and that I was working with CCCS and to offer a token payment. Second letter was the Notification of DMP which CCCS sent. Third letter was the same as letter 1 with another Token payment. In between this I have emailed them on four other times. CCCS are going to make them an offer tomorrow hopefully or Monday. I do appreciate that they have not had an official offer and seen a SOA so I will not bother ringing them and wait to see what they have to say about the offer CCCS make.

It appears that some creditors do not apply the Lending Code Nov 2009 which states that they should refrain from applying charges for 30 days.

But thanks for the feedback. It appears I seem to be having a hard time from my creditors this DMP business is not as easy as I thought.

I also do the 1471 silly I know but it is becoming a habit.

    Regards
