Over Insured.........CARDIF PINNACLE

OK i see what you mean here. I just knew that PPI on cards and loans only pay as a minimum the monthly payment but the other one is an income protection. But I also see about he 75%.:)
effectively they set the limit to 75% of gross earnings before tax,
as this 75% payout is then tax free it will be very similar to your weekly/monthly take home pay. so your income is not effected and other policies will not pay out.
cheersI'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -

personally i would persevere with this as you will not benifit from the policy
Hi robbedofmymoney, they have now passed it to customer relations (I already thought it was customer relations!!) and I should have their reply shortly as they say.
They are trying to make "their policy" our Primary Policy and saying that both would pay out BUT the amount they pay us would be taken from our works one and when theirs finishes after 12 months the works one would then pay out fully. Why would anyone want it like this? Why pay for something that is actually free? IF they paid alongside my husbands pay then that would only be for 4 months that we would actually benefit BUT they will not answer that one!!! I honestly don't think if we claimed on theirs that the works one would pay out at all???
Just have to hope they come back with a "nice" reply.
I have asked yet again for their final response in this and then I shall take to FOS.0 -

Hope they get their finger out here Marshallka and get this sorted for you.:mad:0 -
Cheers maxdp. I hope they get it sorted but who knows how they will treat this one. Just had an email this evening from them stating they will get in touch within 20 days and it has gone to their complaints department. I think they obviously said "Yes" too early and although it was passed by the manager (as they said in their earlier email) they are hoping they can get out of it. I will just have to take it to FOS now I think.Hope they get their finger out here Marshallka and get this sorted for you.
I knew it was too good to be true!! They actually have a reasonable reputation (or did lol) so maybe they will pay out. Time will tell.0 -

Still have not heard anything from Cardiff Pinnacle about our being over insured. They did write again saying the 4th person dealing with it could no longer deal with it but that it was passed over to someone else who then requested EVERYTHING again we had already sent. They said they were writing to my husbands works (which they have had a reply to their question to as my husband asked the secretary to write to them before stating he had been there whilst also being insured by them!!) and they also wanted to write to the insurers of his work so they could pick out what their policy offered that our works one did not. (That is nothing TBH!!). I wonder what the outcome here will be. Just hope that it does not have to go to FOS.0

Still waiting (Zzzzzzzzzzz) from Cardif Pinnacle. If they took my complaint from when I emailed customer services the 8 weeks are now up but with it being passed from pillar to post they say 2nd June. I used to think they were a good company to deal with but their handling of complaints is atrocious.0

Perhaps the time has come to start phoning lots Marshallka, hopefully they will soon get fed up. Good luck with this.:mad:0 -
I will have to get hubby to write to say I am allowed to speak on his behalf. I think they will reply but only at the deadline and with a "sorry, we believe that you could use the policy".(although its proved we cannot as you can only claim up to 75% of your income from anywhere for Income Protection which we have learnt recently so I really cannot see how they can say it was not useless). Works have written to them, our works insurer has written to them and sent all the policy details and we have written to them. They said they wanted to see all the policy terms and conditions so they could "pick" out of them what theirs covered that work one did not. NOTHING at all so they are just stalling.Perhaps the time has come to start phoning lots Marshallka, hopefully they will soon get fed up. Good luck with this.
Cardif Pinnacle have plummeted in my estimations. I used to think they were reasonable but after googling and the complaints on here they are no better than the rest.0 -
Had a a letter today to say another 10 days. Its unbelievable. I bet then it will say "go away"!!.
Its business's like this that actually take the complaint to the whole 8 weeks (their 8 weeks and not mine) that the FSA ought to clamp down on. They only do it to delay half the time in the hope you give up. They know "their" outcome in the early days but play on the full 8 weeks.0
