Be good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.
  • I've just returned from a break with my 2 kids to France with Ryanair and have vowed not to fly with them again. We were checked no fewer than 3 times on the return leg to make sure our hand luggage complied with the regulations: we saw people being directed back to the desk to check small bags in as hold luggage because they were 1 cm too big in one dimension...at an additional cost of over £30! They have staff specially positioned to look out for anything that might not comply. We felt criminalised despite our luggage being fine. The stress as we approached yet another official scrutiny, when we thought we'd already passed the test, was horrendous. Some people were throwing clothes and towels away rather than pay the extra. Flying is already a stressful experience, but with Ryanair we felt like cash cows waiting to be milked. I'll pay the extra to have some customer service in future.

Interesting, and the last minute high fare customers also get this.

I don't mind flying Ryanair, they're the cheapest to get hwere I need to go, and I know I won't take a lot, as luckily I stay (either with friends or OH's family, or somewhere with a sink) somewhere where I can take fewer clothes and wash them too. I quite like them, even though some things are extortionate, I'd rather pay £65 for a return flight than £300.

The rules are clear, if you break the rules then you will have to pay more. Blaming Ryanair for sticking to their policy is absurd, the blame lies with those who thought they could get away with doing their own thing.

Where does this leave those for e.g. who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome which in sum cases, people could be going to the toilet as much as 5-6 times in 10 minutes which is uncontrollable.
  • Mr Oleary cares about nothing but his proffit. We try and take as few flights as possible (Not just look for a cheep weekend away) but travel with our bikes which we use for our travel abroad. We would have to book in one small bag and one bike each so our 'luggage' would cost us (2 people) £240 for a return flight. There is NO WAY that this represents a reasonable or realistic charge.

Unless there is no other reasonable alternative we WILL NOT be using Ryan Air in future. Frankly we would all be better boycotting Ryan Air until they produce a more reasonable level of charges.
