From Trash to Cash: the Dribbling never ends

Egg boxes normally get returned to people with chickens who then give me more eggs (although I do buy from Mr T too as I can't always count on people's chickens producing a surplus) so they get reused rather than recycled, but a great idea for future reference, thanks!0

Well its the fitness class but I'll go to local gym tomorrow. Hehe i'll save my £1 by not buying juice after the class0

Well, I spent lots today, paint testers, new bits for the dripping tap etc...
But, for my £1 saved?? Well, I'm not cooking dinner today we are having salad instead so thats more than £1 saved! Thanks Jo, fab idea!!sealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -
Phew I finally caught up! I love the idea of the £1 a day in May Jo, :T
My saving a pound has just been done totally by accident - we have a plant fayre near here every May Day bank holiday where locals all sell their seedlings and unwanted plants. It's become a bit of a tradition that me, my mum and SIL always go - so much so that my mum has delayed a holiday so that she could go today. When we got there there is a big sign on the road saying that it has been delayed till next Sunday!! So the good thing is I have saved lots of 50p's and £1's not buy seedlings, the bad thing is that my mum will now miss it as she is in Ireland. Boo!
I fully intended spending all the rest of the day in the garden in the glorious sunshine we were promised but it is raining! So I'm going to sort my craft cupboard out instead - not a job for the faint of heart!!:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
hi all,
right, firstly the slugs: I only use beer, tried lager but found it less effective.
saving a pound? I found a £3.00 clubcard voucher from months ago, combined with my penny jar £22.16 and £10 from car boot profit got us the bulk of this weeks shop. pick one, I guess the £3.00 is the saving really.
like I say I've spent the day shopping, meal planned the week ahead (see my blog for plan) and spent the last 2 hours in the garden cutting grass, weeding and general tidy as garden waste collection is tomorrow.
I'm thinking about walking to work in the mornings and getting the bus back. the bus is £1 per day but I'm sure a fiver is better than what I would use in petrol and the walk would do me good. Just need to work out the best (shortest) route as it's about 4 mile.
Off to make dinner now. Syn free spagetti bolognese.

And here are all the bits I've been collecting - remember I was two weeks behind, so some are very out of date!
Firstly, I’m so shocked at Cally’s tone in the other thread. I really don’t see why she got so bitter about everything, unless like dilli said she thought we would all be begging her to come back and was upset when we didn’t. It really does take all sorts doesn’t it!
NLID – hope all is going well with the gadget. I was really impressed at how you answered everyone on the other thread, it sounded very sincere and professional. I admire your drive and wish I was a little more like that. Could your wife do some of the admin stuff for you to take the pressure off a little?
Paulabear, so sorry to hear about your grandma. I’m glad you have a few weeks to enjoy with her though and I’m sure she really appreciates you taking the kids – there’s nothing like a young ‘un around to make you laugh and forget your troubles for a while.enjoy catching up!!
well done on the weight loss thats the same as me, Toots and Mabel added together!! our weight loss that is not our actual weights .lol
Thanks for reading my blog – though I’ve been too busy to post this last week. My niece is having a great time with hers – she is putting me to shame. I find it very difficult to link the blogs she posts with the 8 year old I know she is – she has a very adult way of phrasing things, a side to her that I had stopped noticing in everyday life.
Oh and thanks for the headsup about Squidoo. I’ve kind of lost my way at the moment with the whole money-making thing and really need to get back on track. This might be the kick I needed.
Elly – thank you soooo much for the link to the Fat Bottomed Girls song – I love it! I’ve Facebooked it to all my friends so they can enjoy it too! And congratulations on signing that all important piece of paper.
Munchki - I have changed this several times as your news has changed but BIG congratulations on actually getting into the flat. Enjoy the silence - I have spent two days on my own, just gone to my mum's which is heaving with people and couldn't bear it. I think I have learned to love the temporary isolation although I am a little concerned that I may become a hermit in time! And well done on taking a step back from the date thing - if you are anything like me, I tend to feel like I want to jump into relationships with both feet thinking that this may be my last chance, and then regret it very quickly. It's much better to let things develop slowly if at all and enjoy it on the way.
Everyone else, hello.
It's good to be back!
Joey

Hi everyone
all this talk of salad and fitness is making me feel guilty as i was planning fish and chips for tea
I'm not sure how i've saved my pound but i've done a couple of things i wouldn't normally do like have a very quick shower this morning and let my hair dry naturally rather than blow dry. I took a bottle of water out with me rather than buying lucozade. Oh and we coaxed my nephew away from the balloon shop without having to buy one. It's definitely made me more conscious of my spending which will help me to save
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s mini move, I like small steps as I usually overwhelm myself with huge tasks and end up doing bog all! Thanks Jo!
Cagne - wow I’m surprised at the answer about the slugs lol I didn’t think they’d be choosy with their tipple! Sounds like you’ve had a busy and productive day

well I managed to save about a pound or two......
we did our online shopping for delivery on tuesday... which was all hunky dorey till we went to make lunch today... and had nothing in at all apart from moldy tortilla wraps.
So off I tread to the supermarket with the instructions to get some bread, butter and butty filler and baby formula (All of which are on the list for shopping tomorrow) of which we would have easily spent £12-14.. Instead I bought the milk and two ready made sandwiches for 50p each and the baby formula - saving about £5...£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
