  • :rotfl: Thank you!

Was trying to get to sleep at 4am and OH had to show me a three hour film. I'm not good with films, I have a tiny concentration span, but at 4am?! Lasted about 2 hours and then fell asleep. Ah well!

Am back to watching Kestrel cam. Have just heard that I might be having my spinal operation in June....means I need to raise £2,000 by then. Probably impossible, but quite scary anyway!

£2000!!! blimey-is it a private op or something?
  • Amber - shockingly, for the biggest box I could find, to fill it with books and post to you would only cost £22.31, we are talking 25kg of books! If you wanted, I could do it for you? I know I have the odd spanish novel?, can't read spanish so not entirely sure of the content! Umm, tarot and alternative I can do, novels by the bucket load, photography and history I have lots of too, depends on the subject, but you can afford to narrow that one down as there are loads. Cats, maybe, I have several encyclopedias of dogs!

They are being sidelined for the moment, but don't mind having a rummage and PMing you a few lists for you to choose from if you like, although it will have to wait until I have a quiet moment!

  • It's spinal surgery so I'm hospitalized for a few days afterwards, in intensive care. The local hospital can only have me for one day, then they'd have to transfer me miles away and OH couldn't come, so I can either claim on insurance and send my premiums through the roof or raise the money to stay in the nearby clinic myself.

I was supposed to have it in September but couldn't afford it, so it's well overdue. I doubt I'll be able to afford it this time either though, £2,000 is a lot of money!

NLID - Amber lives in Spain!

Saucy - is that health insurance? Have you asked them how much it would raise your premiums by? If you need it, then you have to have it and if you can't afford it then it would be a case of either going without OH, which would be bad, but worth it, or using the insurance, after all thats what you pay it for.

Edit: I can go all the way up to 39.5kg for £22.31, prob about 50-75 books

Ahhh I see-thats really sucks :-( like mummyandP says have you asked how much your premiums will go up by? it might be worth enquiring?
  • Yeah, it's with Bupa...I'm a bit scared of asking, they never seem too friendly on the phone. The doctors are, but the telephon-ists (?) aren't....I'll bit the bullet and do it, though.

I'm a bit scared. But it'll be out the way a month before Spain, then, which would be good.

Edit: I guess I could see how much I could raise and offer a partial payment? Do you think they'd accept that?
