Hi everyone. not religious but like buddhist philosophies.

never really looked into pagan type stuff though which is quite strange as I think it interests me ....... and I like candles!!! must do some reading about it cos I am a bit ignorant. Is it paganism that celebrates imbolc etc?
although I cannot see me being religious there are some aspects from some religions that I like.“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

note to self - I will not get thinner if I eat the kids leftovers!!“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Isn't clary sage good for clearing the airways? Or have I got that wrong... just trying to think of alternatives to Vick. Poor little things.
I was brought up Christian, did Sunday school, Brownies etc; my mum decided to enter the catholic church and my younger sister and brother followed suit; went to a Catholic school; did the Alpha course after DS was born as I do feel like I'm looking for something; still do. However the main religious influence in our house is OH; he was going through his Judaism 'stage' (he likes the traditions and believes in a lot of it) when we had Reuben (it means 'Behold! A Son!') and is now into Asatruism (?) - Norse gods, beards, stuff like that. We also have a Freyja (named for the goddess of fertility and death). He's reading up on it and has bought a lump hammer 'for ritual purposes'. He tells me about it, I occasionally listen, I don't know what I think really; I like the stories but am not massively keen on the expected roles of women in either of the religions he's shown interest in so far. And I hate beards. But it keeps him happy I suppose. I think my main beliefs are in one God, who created everything, and sometimes I like to say thank you. That's as far as it goes with me I think. And I believe (hope) that when we die there's nothing, but that's because I'm a depressive, and also because I like sleep.
LOL apparently my grandma's having a wonderful time in hospital interfering in other patient's affairs and talking to their visitors more than they are! She's feeling much better apparentlyI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -

we were advised to use myrtle oil when DS was young baby and sniffly. was suggested to put some on a hanky on a radiator or similar as less concentrated that way . it works really well on clearing noses and much less strong than eucalyptus.“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

I only believe that we become part of other things or people as we decompose or are scattered and so what we are made of carries on in some form and even if we are not remembered the sequence of events that was our life has had an impact and the world is different to how it would be if we were never born. So our influence and actions will always be part of what makes, and has made, the world and its people what they are.
