hows the crocheting coming in? its a skill i have never tried - think i did it when l was about 5 or 6

Give it a go skint, it's very satisfying, works up really quickly. Uses a lot more wool/yarn than knitting mind you. Youtube is awash with tutorial videos.

  • Oh no Paula, you're kidding! He went off on Thursday by first class post! I was labouring under the impression that mail is taken south by rail, perhaps they normally fly it down, hence the delay? I certainly hope he turns up before Thursday *panics slightly*

Re Alex, I seem to recall there's are 'local' boards, what to see and do type, somewhere on the forum, perhaps there would be good to post the link?

Evening all. Another great day weatherwise - hope it's going to last for a few months :)

Had a bit of a non-MSE day today - went to Meadowhall and bought some jeans and a new top. Fed up of not having any clothes to wear because I've put weight on and nothing fits. I've been putting off buying anything cus I am determined to lose the weight again, but Primark prices are so cheap, it would have been silly to not get them! (That's how I'm rationalising it anyway :D)

The question is...What is the most memorable thing you have ever experienced at a wedding-can be your own or someone elses, anything from a little detail to a massive event..Thanks for any answers..I'll luv ya all for ever.... :-)

Ooh MM, I went to the most amazing wedding ever 2 years ago – in Mexico! The groom was from Sheffield, the bride from Mexico and she wanted to get married in her hometown. It really showed up the English weddings I’ve been to. They had a Mariachi group who got everyone involved in the games and dancing straight away and they literally had us on the dance floor all night. 500 very tired guests, but boy was it memorable! I have pics somewhere – I’ll try and find one that shows how amazing it was.

Oh Joey, poor kittens! Is it a minor thing for them or does it hit them hard because they're little? Glad someone else on here's doing weightwatchers too, if you haven't already, the monthly pass is a great idea as it works out cheaper and you can track what you eat on the online tracker as well as getting support on the forums if you want it. I find it easier than the one they give you in meetings as you can just type foods in and it has foods listed that the books don't. I've started really looking forward to my weigh-ins!

It is worrying as they can’t breathe properly with their noses being stuffed up. So I keep fastening them in their cat basket and putting a hot bowl of water nearby with a towel over the top to clear their airways (under vet’s instructions). He also advised me to put Vicks cream on the nape of their necks – poor little things are completely bewildered by it all J

Thanks for the hint on WW – I have got the monthly pass and had done a very quick sweep of the online stuff, but had dismissed it for another time. But I went on again last night and found the tracker, and it’s great! I can have 19 points and had 18 yesterday – went to bed early as I was hungry, (so another benefit as I've been keeping silly hours lately!). I have been much more sensible today with my points, got it all planned out. I’ve been to Morrisons and bought lots of WW goodies that I can treat myself with at night if I save the points. And I bought some WW crisps and French Fries as they are both only 1 point and I LOVE crisps.

How are you going with it?
