Hi everyone. not religious but like buddhist philosophies.

never really looked into pagan type stuff though which is quite strange as I think it interests me ....... and I like candles!!! must do some reading about it cos I am a bit ignorant. Is it paganism that celebrates imbolc etc?
although I cannot see me being religious there are some aspects from some religions that I like.

There are a lot of different philosophies under the 'pagan' heading and nowadays the tendency is for people to equate 'paganism' with Wicca, which annoys me somewhat, but there we go! I think your outlook on life is reflected in a lot of 'paganism', so I'm sure you'll enjoy looking into it.

I only believe that we become part of other things or people as we decompose or are scattered and so what we are made of carries on in some form and even if we are not remembered the sequence of events that was our life has had an impact and the world is different to how it would be if we were never born. So our influence and actions will always be part of what makes, and has made, the world and its people what they are.

My beliefs in a nutshell, thank you Jo!

Thanks for the info Toots just been having a broad look at stuff online between posting here. I cannot believe in a God or Goddess though which doesn't mean I think others are wrong - they may be right but its not a leap I can make. however the philosophies look really interesting and wow what a lot of different stuff it covers.

Great idea Jo - I've just put some of the Vicks on a couple of old towels and put them on the radiator and all the kittens are snuffling, so I think it may be clearing their poor little noses! And it smells really nice - double whammy!

Poor babies! Hope that does the trick Joey, bless their little hearts, it's horrid when you can't do much to help them.

yeah where did the FB group go?? did it get deleted??

Jo mentioned that it was started by Cally, so I can only presume that after her tizz here, she threw her dummy out of the pram too. Pity, I really didn't expect that from her.

It's wonderful when the weather is like this, really boosts the soul doesn't it?! Sometimes it's good to feel knackered when you feel you've achieved something. I'm well, have really done very little today other than argue with a crochet monkey that's not coming together the way it should. It didn't argue back as I haven't put the mouth on yet, the only saving grace I'd say! :D

I don't believe in any kind of all powerful god or goddess, and never will, but instead have an abiding appreciation for nature and the earth. There's a bit more to me than that lol, but that gives you the gist! While pagan isn't a word I really use for myself, it is usually what I say if asked, but because there is so much covered under that heading, labels are no good imo.

Toots I hate labels too they are never sufficient. I cannot fit myself comfortably into many labels whether its religion or otherwise.

  • :rotfl: I wouldn't put it past the cheeky little sod, far too like it's intended adoptive owner if you ask me!

I don't know why as a society we have to label everything anyway, what good does it do?? Usually means people miss out because they look at the label and say oh no, not for me.

oh Joey I hope they improve soon. as I've said befroe I am not a catty person but the way you write about them on your blog makes me feel all maternal towards them and the others like Thomas. You must write well because I guess thats a reflection of your own feelings that you've evoked in me.
