Yeah i am with Arty as well Weezl we all went in to this voluntarily no gun pressed to our heads and in no way do i blame you if recipes go wrong or we hate something (which hasnt happened so far) and i didnt buy things that i hate. Please dont worry about this if i didnt want to do it then i wouldnt have offered. And at the end of the day if we do all end up hating you why would you care? you dont know most of us from Adam so unless you show your painted hands we wont know who you are so panic not:rotfl::rotfl:
Had a funny day slept in no time for brekkie made it work on time and there was a spare bacon roll so i couldnt say no could i? Managed to remember to take the bean pate to work so had that with a mug of soup (didnt pay for that either so doesnt count) and making the cottage pie now will report later.0 -
Hello all
Well nearly the end of day 11!
I can't believe it
We're doing really well I feel. No recipes needing to be junked or huge tweaks, no huge mutiny from family members and no one seems to be hungry or not feeling well :j:j:j:j:j
In the background I am plodding away with creating a website to host all of shirley's recipes and everything
Also feel like planner 3 is coming together beautifully. Wonder if any of the vegetarians who didn't want to do planner 1 might be persuaded to try it out or any parts of it?
Planner 2 is a bit more sticky! I feel like with planners 1 and 3 at least I have a selling point-something that makes the planner attractive... planner 1- it has meat-yay
planner 3-there's fresh fruit-yay!
planner 2- erm..... there aren't any eggs....... bit of a damp squib that one eh?! :rotfl:

weezl Who is planner 2 aimed at?
We have non-tomatoey cottage pie tonight...not a fan of tomato in cottage pie. Just another tweak for us.
I'm finding that my very slight tweaks are making a huge difference for my family, so much so that last night my son asked if we were still doing it
I'm happy to do the veggie evening meals next month weezl. Am I right in thinking that there will be about 15 unique meals? Cause mt normal plan is alternate veggie meals.
Would that help you?0 -
Well, it's all been said already
Weezl, I understand why you worry about the testers - I'd be the same in your place. But much as the plan is your baby and your responsibility, putting it into practice is our responibility alone - we undertake it at our own risk, and acquiring, storing, cooking and eating food is down to each tester alone, and should anything go kerflooey, it's no your fault. Okay ?
Besides, if I know you are worrying about us, I'll be worrying about you, cos you have two boys under 18 months and need your energy, physical and mental, to deal with that first and foremost. So then you have a country full of people not sleeping, worrying about each other. And that's not what this is about, now is it. So what I'm saying is - we are big girls, all of us, and should your energies be needed elsewhere, we will cope, so don't feel you have to give too much of yourself to watch over us, all right ?
Onion tart again for me tonight - saving cottage pie (all cooked up and frozen for when !!!!!! is backDD tried a bit, sadly not a goer. She and her friends had no-knead bread sandwiches as part of their picnic today though, and they all got eaten, so win some, lose some, as always. I didn't manage to make any more bread though as was too busy taking advantage of the warm weather and digging away, which means the bread situation is approaching critical and I really have to make some more tomorrow !
And yes, I do feel that this little experiment has so far given me far more than I have given it, so I'm one happy camper.
Plan 2 - good for vegetarians allergic to eggs ? Can't say you are any less than inclusive, eh ? What was the driving force behind that one again, can you remind me ? Avoiding battery eggs or something different ?0 -
Weezl, I think you got yourself a volunteer for Plan 2 there....0

hi frankie and allegra
planner 2 was a way of satisfying the 'no battery eggs' folk
To be eggless loses us quite a few of our thrifty meals and snacks, but doesn't give a lot in return
So it's vegetarian, and can afford more cuppas than planner oneand a different cheese (a blue one), but not loads of it IYSWIM?

oh and mysupermarket.co.uk says that planner 3 has just over 21 portions of the '5 a day' per person per day :eek::eek: (it is counting pulses more than once per day, but still....:D)

right, so we've got allegra on planner one, !!!!!! here on planner 2 and cos of the fruit, DD on planner 3 :rotfl:
Not too many meals in your house then
:rotfl:Business as usual, then ! Just as well I like cooking
I suspect that "no battery eggs" will not all too often follow through to "happy to have none", but I might be wrong - I'd be happy to give Planner 2 a whirl, now !!!!!! has given his blessing0
