I am glad to be honest that she is not working there any more. She would be up until 3 am writing reports then in work the next day, not enough time with my Dad, not having any kind of social life... She has built up a great reputation in her area and I am trying to persuade her to get some 'references' from people so that she can do something different. I just thought it would be another example of someone who could use the plan, or parts of it :T
that's great :) the more we're learning together, the more I think that everyone in the uk could benefit from a nutritionally worked out planner system. I am realising just how few people I know or have come across online have a healthy diet due to health misinformation.

    It's actually quite frightening :(

sorry I don't mean your parents there! just musing away to myself :)

If my Dad were less busy I would get him to come on here; he has a PhD in chemistry and I love watching adverts on TV as he is able to say why most of what they say is nonsense. My Mum got nobbled in Meadowhall on Saturday by one of those people who get you to try their soap sample and then explain why you need their pack of hand creams etc. My Dad and I stood at a distance and said "shall I go over there and prove to him why the ingredients are pointless?", we didn't in the end but he has shown me I need to have a healthy cynicism about advertising and look through the bumph to see if there is any real science (enhanced in post production/styled with some lash inserts/our friendly bacteria...) :)

    Morning all

I hope the drama of last night has died down-cant say I really understand but I'll go back and read again. Feeling somewhat delicate this morning but am free so if there is any (easy) tasks you need done weezl-I might be able to do it.

  • Hi Weezl,

I’ve suddenly been overrun at work. Will continue doing the research this afternoon when I get home. It’s quite fiddly as I’m checking how each item is cooked (changes amount of folate retained after cooking) and then calculating folate amount. But very interesting really.

ermmm... no-one commented on the use of tapwater in the 3rd planner?

    Future directions-wise:

    JuliMK has reminded us that:

    1) roll out of nutrition boxes on each recipe is the next essential, (after kitty) containing cals. fat, salt, iron and calcium. (weezl work estimate- 45 hrs)

I asked if this could be contained in the recipe table, I don't remember reading people's reasons why that wasn't their preferred option? (weezl work estimate 10 hrs)

    2) possible hardcore month which can either be used in full or as a way for kitty/shirley to continue rotating their months. (weezl work estimate 120 hrs)

  • Right,

    While I have a moment:

Where on earth are all the lemons used?

I'd say no to the tapwater as it varies so wildly around the country/ies.

is your dad up for questioning some of the health misinformation we've exposed in the time we've worked together sian?

ie what would his position be on:

    5 is good

    9 is better

    2 is bad?

    or:

    reduced fat= healthier choice

genuine question, as if Bob were able to think like him, we can win them as a family :)

    Right,

they are meant to be used in a cordial and in the houmous/risi and one other place (juice) I am sorry I haven't got round to uploading that :o

Shanks is shirl's drinks on my current do list?

Twinkle I was going to go with the lowest amount found anywhere in the uk, and then recommend they drink double what I need them to. How would that sound?

Ie I'd say it's healthy to drink 8 glasses of water per day and then only rely on the nutrients in 3 glasses and in the least mineral rich areas of the country.

  • So lemons are used as juice and mostly raw (cordial, hummus)?

If you used the lowest as you say then it should be fine.
