Weezl Im having desk time too this morning whilst DS in nursery (and dont have to fetch him as someone else will-so if you need another list this morning Im happy to do one too.
Thank you! if you're using the USda list does it make sense to tackle a couple of nutrients, so you only have to open each foodstuff once IYSWIM? like would it be better for me to say just do the top 5-10 items on shirl's list but to do 3/4 of the B vitamins?

Or would you rather do the way you have been? Just trying to save you time really! x

If I were going to do 3/4 of the B vitamins then surely it would make more sense just to do all four ;) Shall I start with the B vitamins and let you know how I go in say half an hour.

Wilting? Yes...I know my blood is african but Im not used to the humidity.

And I want to sort out the filing but cant find a decent MSE filing cabinet:(

    morag!

    Aha the weezl pounces :)

would you be willing to write something for the site about cooking methods for best retention of nutrients?

I also think it'd be good to include tips like keeping the rice/potato water for your bread batches, as this has the doubly thrifty benefit of winning back lots of lost nutrients, as well as making the starches in the bread stronger and therefore giving the dough a better rise.

If anyone is willing to do any research on whether we can safely reuse the chickpea water from cooking, that would be fab too :) Susan, for some reason I imagine that's the sort of thing you might know?

    xxx

I'm sorry to hear that sian :(

I hope your mum and dad find something useful to take from Kitty & shirl :)

I am glad to be honest that she is not working there any more. She would be up until 3 am writing reports then in work the next day, not enough time with my Dad, not having any kind of social life... She has built up a great reputation in her area and I am trying to persuade her to get some 'references' from people so that she can do something different. I just thought it would be another example of someone who could use the plan, or parts of it :T
