had a look at the nutmeg site
looks interesting and useful if you are a caterer for an institution. It says you can build your own recipes, but it looks like that would only be using their database of ingredients which would be of limited use to us
it also seems to be one of those sites that pull you in and then everything that you actually want to do costs extra
have you tried the free download?
I've been watching this thread for AGES but always too scared to post-had to come out of the woodwork to ask if you've heard of Bigoven? DH bought me the upgraded version about twoish years ago, I think it was about £10 at the time. It is american, but you can ask it to work your recipes in metric or imperial-you can add new ingredients and tell it which aisle to look for it in the supermarket-also allows you to calculate nutrition value and scale recipes...so if you have a recipe saved to serve 4 and you want to do 8, when you add the meal to the calendar it asks how many you want to serve-and it automatically calculates the new ingredients and cooking time. When you ad it to the calendar it asks you if you want to add to shopping list too-then at the end of your planning you can go at "shop from cupboard" and remove the items you have in-and reduce your shopping list to what you need only. Ive even been sneaky and added "ingredients" which are actually household, like washing powder for example, so that I can get them into the one shopping list.
You can also then print your month planner at a glance, recipes required an shopping lists.0 -

polkadot: thank you
please could you look up the vitamin C amounts for the things on Shirleys shopping list (hoping you know where to find that on the website
)
I basically need a number of mg per 100g of each thing.
I usuallly use the raw weight as that's what we've bought, and some things change weight when cooked.
Aless: could you do the same but for potassium?:A
