    I have bought the blocks in the past and made my own tamarind water and paste. A block will last months, you'll never use it all. It's also possible to buy the paste in jars which is more expensive but an awful lot less hassle!

    okay, weezl.

    not the neatest results. I've tried to give cooked figures where available, but I have a feeling it's 100g cooked weight, not 100g raw weight then cooked? IYSWIM...

    Some of the things (notably, rice & pasta) have a huge difference in raw v cooked, so I'd be very careful which number you used. :A

    we don't have marrowfats in the USA, so best to go with raw peas and just hope it's close :)
