Is that Shirl's tomato scones ? If so, I have done, and ask away.
How were they for flavour?
I'm doing something for kitty although I'll be hard pushed to call it a sconewith roughly similar ingredients.
What spices did you add?

Hmmmmmm....
I'm sorry if i have offended people sorryxxxx
You've not offended anyone, and I do hope you've not been offended in turn
BTW, as for your question about age and different viewpoints - I think that not so much age but stage in life, if you see what I mean, will by definition change an individual's perspective. What I'm trying to say is that as a young free and single you may well have a different perspective to a mother of a teen, regardless of your age. But I'd say that only applies to superficialities - core values remain the same regardless.
Anyway, age is a state of mind, it's just a number, there are no age differences on an internet forum. Delete as appropriate0 -

We liked them, although not quite as much as the cheese ones. Spices - I can not remember exactlySorry. A touch of garlic and a touch of chilli powder, I'd guess, as I tried not to add something Shirl would not have the first time I tried a recipe.

I noticed someone (pinkhayley?) was working on an alternatives thing for shirley so she could inject some variety into the plan using the same ingredients.
What about a coca mallorquina? Essentially pizza type bread base with a vegetable topping. I like it with red and yellow peppers and the best thing is that you don't have to totally cover the bread base, gaps in topping are perfectly acceptable and it makes the topping go further. It's delicious cold and would be a good lunch time option.Sealed pot member 735

Made these buns today that I think are planner friendly as far as ingredients. Based on this recipe which is very versatile, I've made before with different sweeteners and cereals.
http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=24890.0
Carrot Buns
43g mix instant oats
124g plain flour
3 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
100g sugar
120ml water
1/4 cup applecurd (forgot to weigh and convert to grams and I ended up using apple sauce in the end as didn’t have time to make it)
153g (3-4) grated carrots
170-255g dried raisins
Combine oats, flour, garam masala, baking powder and baking Soda. In a separate, larger bowl mix sugar, water and applecurd, attempting to make the mixture as smooth as possible. Add dry ingredients, half at a time, mixing just to incorporate. If the batter seems too moist add 1/4 to 1/2 cup flour (I haven’t converted this line to grams as I didn’t add any extra flour). Finish by incorporating the carrot and raisins. Pour into prepared muffin pans and bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.
Serves 12
They are more like buns then muffins, I've made them before and they have rose more, but I probably used self raisin flour as that tends to be the wholemeal that I buy and today I used plain. Not sure what part the cornstarch plays so I left it out today as its not a ingredient on the planner.

well Ingerland were c**p, not a very exciting match at all, feeling pretty deflated now
Not sure if these Shirley's would get as far as actually reading the plan, but how about the 'yes, but' Shirley's. Those that aren't in the right place to follow the plan, and respond with 'yes, but' to every encouragement to try it.
If we can get those Shirley's to try a recipe or two, we could ease them along the road to frugaldom0 -
