Oh thats very sweet!! You can have my pink glow stick for that:D
All the food was £5/6/7-everytime I paid i thought of you all-you were like little voices in my head saying, 'no arty, just pick some nettles from that bank and grab your camping stove and then you are away'.:D
food at festivals is weird isn't it? your body suddenly needs nothing all day 'cept for a crepe for 3 days and then on the last day you're hoovering down lamb curry as if your life depended on it!

I’ll take some piccies of DD’s gown once completed, but the ‘prom’ isn’t until 20 July, so maybe a while.
Thanks for the tip about the doughnuts. We haven’t tried them yet as DD has been poorly. Had her at home with me today, mainly curled up on the sofa under her duvet. But she seems much perkier this evening.
I’ve been trying to work out theoretical (prep) & cooking times for the vegan recipes, based on what is stated in the recipe & how long has been allowed for the original recipes. How do these look?
Pasta funghi 5/15
Tomato olive pudding (45)/150
Red pepper tart (45)/55
Risi e bisi vegan (20)/25
Red pepper houmous (5)/0
Olive tapenade (10)/20
Butternut squash risotto vegan (15)/40
Brazil nut & pumpkin seed butter (15)/0
Red lentil pate (10)/20
How long are the BNS & parsnips roasted for at the beginning of the vegan veggie burger recipe?
It would be really helpful if those who have made any of the new vegan recipes could post their timings? Please?
I won’t be around much tomorrow, but should be all day Wednesday, so will be able to work on it more then.0 -
Sorry if it seemed like I was making random "cold" comments in the middle of the emotional conversation.
I believe that what you are doing will make a big difference, but the most revolutionary ideas are often the ones which receive the most criticism. Think about Jamie, doing his school dinners campaign, that did not go down well though he was doing it from good motives (I could link to some more dramatic examples of revolutionaries who were assasinated physically or by character assasination because of their beliefs but that may be a little overstating it!). Do not think that people are not reading along and quietly getting on with following the plan; people do not really like putting their heads over the parapet and you know there is a quietly happy band of lurkers.
I do so hope you feel you have the energy and will-power to keep this all up. It sounds like you have a hubby who is well in tune with your emotions and how to help you too! Keep coming on here and feel free to ask for emotional support if need be, and rant away if you want to, you have a merry band of followers, some of whom have been there from the very beginning, the fact that so many people are so evangelical about your pages says a lot about how you are valued. So, at the meet up in London, there shall be many hugs, and much laughter and buoyed spirits!!!!!
(my apostrophe key is not working, apologies for strange turns of phrase!)God is good, all the time

oooh ooooh whatcha making for the biddies?oooh ooooh whatcha making for the biddies?
I think I am going to make them carrot cake.
They like cake.
When we were kids, cake was a very limited luxury.
Now none of us live there, cake is alllll they want *rolleyes*
I have a BNS that needs using up...
So, I think I will make a BNS pie for them too, for the same reasons as above
Actually... the BNS risotto recipe on the site... when you hover over the recipe, it shows a pic of the pie ...just for info0 -
I made some roasted vegetable houmous last night. It was my first attempt and is very nom and we will have it for lunch with tzatziki and salad and toasts.
Anyways, enough of this sensible recipe chat. What we really need to know is: which body part did ya pick Weezl? Ir hoping it r not a rude part as keeping ur troubles in ur rude bits might be bad.;).Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -
Weezl...
Just a small question regarding the carrot cake...
Was there a link to the original recipe, before frugalisation ?
I wanted to check out the icing details... the biddies like icing0 -
Weezl, I shall try and talk about various issues that have cropped up in my absence when I get a moment (real life rather interfering atm), but in the meantime, have one of the dodgy MSE orgy hugs :grouphug:
There, being released from that makes you feel immediately better, does it not ?
We had guests for lunch on Sunday, and I fed them Weezl's chicken and onion pie (I just added a handful of sweetcorn to the mixture to make it feel real posh). And today I baked Weezl's carrot cake mixture in muffin cases for !!!!!! to take to work as his contribution to the cake day.
As for the person who'd rather eat their own kneecaps, well, it's an option, isn't it ? The only thing that concerns me about it is that it is of necessity rather a short-term menu plan. Not dissing the 'caps, no - make a lovely jelly-topped stock that'll feed a family of four for days on end, no doubt - but once that is all eaten up, they'll find it rather hard to catch the remaining members of the family to get hold of their kneecaps, won't they ?
Sometimes people just do not think things through properly.0 -
