weezl - can you share?? No worries about tasting Marmite - DH loooooves it and I don't mind its flavor cooked in things (just not as a spread, blech). As a random aside, are there any worries as to the salt content of Marmite for the littlies? Or is the amount so small in the sort of things you are giving Fergie (and I will be giving Finn ) that it doesn't matter?

And to add to the WW Points list:
BNS risotto: 9.5 points, with quantity of rice reduced to 100g per person. Use far less oil & cheese to lower the points. (or eat even less rice and have an additional veg side, as most veggies are 0 points)

good question! well obviously I'm no health visitor, but here's my thinking on fergie and the salt..

ok so usually i put 3 tspns of salt into a 4 loaf batch, so less than a teaspoon per loaf making it 0.04% sodium by weight, and bought granary hovis is a great deal more salty than that, which is fine from a year. swapping 7tspns of marmite for one of the salt teaspoons keeps the overall salt the same as the usual home made stuff, so I'm pretty ok with it really.

I don't give him dishes we've added salt to, I tend to portion out his bit first, but I do give him stuff like the onion tart :)

Also I'm not too worried about the marmite cos he'd need 2 and a half heaped tablespoons to be a teaspoon of salt, and he only likes a bit that's about the size of my little finger nail!

is all this ramble helping at all?
