very frugal choice Alice, I approve :)

    how is she?
She doesn't seem to be so bad. She didn't have any coughing fits overnight last night but I don't know how she's been today because she's been with OH most of the day.

    allegra, you ok?

Just lurkin quietly, but happy I hope :)

It's been a weird day, but it's over now :) DD likes the marmitey bread, btw - as long as it's got butter on it (helps with the lack of saltiness).

Had saag aloo from the freezer tonight, tastes even better on defrosting :D

    boo for weird days :(

I did 7tspns of marmite and 2 of salt. It's nice! I'm really surprised but chuffed. I took heed and kept a close eye on the dough but it didn't ooze, so I guess we need the extra salt to inhibit the yeast?

Of course I'll let you know how our doughnuts come out. I was thinking of adding jam, as I am sure we have a syringy thing around somewhere & we have loads of half eaten jars of jam from our last trip to the Tiptree factory shop. It is not far from here & I think it is important to support local businesses!! ;)
