I will be having a small amount of vino in a min when the bottle is bought. I hope it isnt stress that has led you to drink weezl??

Also thats like a year and a bit since you last had wine:eek::eek::eek::eek:...I couldnt do that;).

Now the all important, ever-so significant, million doller question.....

    Red or White????

A tasty chick pea snack, which I make often, is chick peas (from a tin, but cooked ones will work too) spread in a roasting tin, a tablespoon or 2 of veg oil, a sprinkle of salt and either pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, dried herbs, whatever you fancy! Give the roasting tin a good swirl to coat all the chick peas in the oil and flavouring, and roast at about 250 degrees (ie HOT) for 20-30 minutes, stirring once at about the halfway point, until the chick peas are a bit crunchy.

This is really tasty, and lower on the Glycemic Index than crisps, chips, bread, pasta etc - and is also yummy as part of a main meal (ie with chicken and salad).

:D it is rose arty, so officially that's a white I guess?

It wasn't virtue or frugality that kept me from wine :) it was kessie and fergie making me feel icky at the thought!

    Oh Oh Oh

I forget to tell you my dream about you all!!:D

Weezl phoned me up and said she was very upset and stressed and needed a holiday so was coming to where I live, then we were in my local student pub watching a fashion show (with Naomi Campbell in for some reason) and everybody was there!!!!

You were all wearing hoodies that the sports teams wear here and had your aliases on them so I knew who you were. I offered Weezl a malibu but you were quite annoyed with me and said it wasnt frugal enough and you would walk to Asda and get a bottle instead:eek::rotfl: and that we werent working hard enough. Shanks said she had to play netball all day so couldnt eat more frugal foods.

It was a very bizarre dream and I woke up quite confused. I told mr arty and he thought it was very funny.

good grief arty, what on earth do you do/eat before sleeping to have such weird dreams? :D

Mind you, I don't remember my dreams much, so mine may be as weird as yours!

that sounds tasty rainbow! You seem to know a fair bit about GI eating, do you know if because our bread is fortified with oats (on kitty's planner) and eaten with protein rich foods like chick peas, does that make the GI any better? Or is it kinda just bread is a GI high item regardless?

PS I knew you weren't meaning about the planner with the GI bit, I was just interested:)

    green pea houmous?

do people think this sounds icky?

I thought it might be a good way to hide the pea ness.

(Do not say that last sentence out loud or all your OH's will think you are reading a dodgy website :))

found a good sounding one, but would need frugalising here

    5747773462556f71637a4941424d304f?_RM_EMPTY_&
    Makes roughly 20 tree biscuits
    Ingredients
    • 450g runny honey
    • 450g fine, dry breadcrumbs (brown or white) OR 225g breadcrumbs mixed with 225g plain flour
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1 tsp ground ginger
    • ½ tsp ground white pepper
    • cloves, nuts, apples slices, rosehips or whatever else you fancy for decorating
    • string or ribbon for hanging

Method: How to make medieval gingerbread

    1. Put the honey in a large saucepan and place over a medium heat. Heat gently until the honey just begins to bubble. Take off the heat, stir in the spices, then add the breadcrumbs and mix to a dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface, form into a neat disc, wrap and chill for an hour.
    2. Preheat the oven to 220°c/Gas Mark 7 and grease or line a couple of baking sheets.
    3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 5mm. Stamp out biscuits using cutters of your choice, and transfer to the baking trays. Use a skewer to make a hole in each biscuit for threading through your string or ribbon, then decorate the biscuits in whichever way you choose.
    4. Bake the biscuits for about 10 minutes in the hot oven, or until dry and firm. Transfer to a rack to cool, then thread with string or ribbon and hang on your tree.

or a frugal sounding one (after substituting the butter for something else), but with a bad review here, can't cut and paste this one
