I meant to ask, what do I do with my whole chicken?
Boil it? Roast it? mash it with a fork? (wee lord of the rings joke there)
Actually been living off soup and left over chilli (which went down very well with my lot! I was shocked!)0 -
I can't believe how many posts there have been since I stopped reading on Fri at lunchtime. You've all been very busy. Sorry I didn't volunteer for the jobs offered but I was Busy all weekend when I wasn't here online.
Not quite sure I've got hold of the F&V counting correctly - are the figures just per person?
Is it the averaged F&V count that is important - averaged over a week, say??
Or is it important that the tally is actually "5" in a day
the figures in taka's post are per person per meal sallygirl.
nutritionally speaking I've understood that the body is able to store vitamins and minerals, and so having 6 one day and 4 the next is no bad thing AFAIK... But happy to be corrected... What were you thinking?
Tia, you poach the chicken and use a quarter of it in the chicken pies, a quarter in each of 2 pies, and have a quarter in the other 2 sunday lunch meals. The ones with the bubble and squeak. When you first realise it's 16 meals from one chicken, you think it's laughable but having eaten the pies and the bubble and squeak meal it does actually feel fairly meaty

hello! I'm having a bit of a worry wobble now about the 5 a day column.
At first I thought it was a really neat feature, but now I realise it exposes the planner to a perhaps unhelpful type of scrutiny.
We know there are 680 F and V portions in bob and shirl's planner, and more in Kitty's and erm... Barbara?
But if we post the portion numbers for the meals, this may then look artificially low to shirley....
Hmmmn
thinks thinks thinks...

am I right in thinking people are less keen to try the vegan recipes?
I feel they've been less tried, but I can't work out if that's just how I'm seeing it, rather than that it's true IYSWIM?
Am I making them look attractive enough on the site?

I had the impression people were trying them out quite a lot
I've done four so far and am planning to try the others, too - only reason I haven't yet is because I am trying to run down stocks before buying new ingredients :money:0
