Different bg image for each page will make the page clicks go slowly while that new image uploads. SHirl on a dial up connection will have to wait approx 6 seconds for each page to load and most users click away if there are delays like that- I kid you not!

In work we usually look at page load time of longer than a second as being an elephant page and have to work hard to justify its inclusion!

eta: none of this meant argumentatively, just explaining what thinking has gone into each decision!

No thats fine Weezl. Once I had submitted the post I wondered if it would be a bit ambitious.

I use mr arty computer and its all fancy and high tec so I forget that stuff like that can take quite a long time to load. If shirls anything like me she will get frustrated and not use the site if it takes ages to load.

I did try a lovely zingy one of red lentils but that shouted too loudly.

I quite like nature backgrounds, but Mr weezl thought it ought to be of food.

Why what were you thinking?

The only pic i have is the cheese. I have Title, oven temp,ingreds and the words "this is for a triple batch blah blah" then goes straight into ingreds.

Erm, so to reduce greyness, did you mean change the font colour? I played around with a pink/purple a bit like the background of the menu tabs but that wasn't as legible. Enlarging the texton that page makes a horrendous amount of scrolling on a lappy-sized screen. So I'm a bit reluctant to up that size again...



ok cool. Will do. This will mean a fair bit of scrolling so I might break it into a few pages with a <...more> to click on at the end of the first chunk

I am on google chrome/ but we have fire fox/internet explorer/ opera and safari on here too so I'll have a look at the differences in a min.

The text is grey and small, could you make it a bolder grey maybe?? (is there such a colour arty wonders lol)

I see your point about scrolling though.

I think splitting pages up is doable and with follow on arrows will be ok.

Also the breakfast pancakes have no pic at the moment.

thanks both! eeeep we had a bad upload there. I pinged all the photos to the server about hrs ago and some of them didn't stick! If anyone spots which others may have gone awol, do let me know.

Pizza and pancakes have just successfully uploaded now tho

I'm holding off an Ikea trip that DH is keen to do tho, because this is so helpful, but would you mind reconvening for an online design development meeting in about an hour and a half?
