I'm having a day off today and I'm not sure what to do with myself..isnt that silly??
if you had chance to ask your mum and your uni pals (the ones who set up the sucessful site) for any constructive criticism of the site, that'd be grandBut I wasn't sure if you being at a looose end meant you wanted jobs to do?

To be honest I think if people on MSE liked valued and used the site, Martin would become aware of it.
Example: Npsmama posted a little thread 3 years ago asking for a failsafe hobnob recipe. Twink posted the one she used. 96 people thanked her post and 'twinks' became a success on old-style and talked about. He mentioned it in his email. Now twinks recipe has been thanked almost 900 times, more than any other I've seen.
Martin didn't mention it because he thought it was the best way to save a family millions of pounds, it's just a biscuit recipe! (a nice one, and I'm not saying anything bad about twinks). He mentioned it because people on the forums thought it was worth mentioning.
I agree with you that the voice of the people would be effective in helping shirley.
However I am too close to the project to see why the voice of the people is not active about this project.
If it's just that it's not active yet, cool, I'll wait and see.
Or maybe it doesn't have more value than currently. Cool, I'll maintain what we've got now, it's still valuable
And finally: thank you Morag, the relief I felt when I read your post was indescribable and if I could thank your post more than once you'd beat those hobnobs into a c0cked hat!
I would start a thread with a link to the website but I don't know how!
And where has the like button gone for this forum thread?

Arty- Also been meaning to ask for ages, as art and all things aesthetic are your specialism, I'm really up for you offering tweaks that would make the photography/layout more attractive to shirl.:D
I'm pretty happy with it as 'good enough' but there are tweaks I'd like to make..
Sian thanks for suggesting the fruit rather than vitamins photo swap...:A

Just discovered this thread today, but have no spare time at the moment to investigate thoroughly yet...but will do when I have the time (sometime!!)
I have been following the GC and NSD threads, which is where I heard about this...looks really interesting!
Thanks to all those involved, and I will be keeping an eye on this thread from now on!
I think I get where everybody is coming from. I wasnt clear on the rules of MSE so Morags post was very helpful. Thankyou

I'/SIZE]
Not sure what you would want me to do, but I have made some notes over the last week or so but they weren't important so didnt post them..here are my thoughts though.:o
On the cooking advice page, there is too much text in one go, you need a pic or two in the middle.
On the Meal planner page, 'month one-at a glance' needs to be a bigger font and bolder (maybe a different colour as it looks like a bit of an afterthought)
The text on the meal planner itself is IMO too small; some people may have problems reading it and everything is very grey
I would also like to do something with the vast white expanses of background but not sure at the mo. It looks like a very serious site (which is good) but maybe needs livening up so people aren't so nervous about using it
PLEASE dont be offended, I purposely hadn't posted this before as it is aesthetic and not important really...

Cooking advice page is too long full stop - it is currently being rewritten. I reckon I can get it to half the size whilst not only keeping all the info but adding all the new stuff people have asked for in.... It takes time, though !0 -
Ok Allegra -I didnt realise it was still a work in progress:). Ignore that point then weezlie:)In art as in love, instinct is enough

What about a 'How did you find us' question on the site? That way you'll get some idea about who is using the resource.
