Tia i know one of the testers used her measuring jug (see post 1289) for that and it turned out well so that is one option. I used a glass pyrex bowl and put it in a pan to boil. Maybe some of the others will have other suggestions. HTH xx0

I am drunk and it is fabulous!!! Got my work in an hour before the deadline yay!!!!:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer:
Potty your wine lives up to expectations, both mr arty and I like it.:D It certainly does have a 'hint of strawberry' but is quite potent. Infact so potent I have offered to treat me. mr arty and a friend to a pub dinner all on me!!!:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I'm drunky drunk:) (blame potty)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh dear, sorry Arty, I do hope you have drank some water before bed, and have pain killers, if needed, at the ready for the morning.
I am glad that you like the wine
I dont really have any further words of wisdom, that hasn't already been said before...
I totally understand why you do not wish to contribute many more hours without knowing what the outcome is...
And I appreciate you feel you only have one shot at this project....
The only thing I fear, for you, is if momentum is lost, will it be retrievable ?
Regardless of how many people find and use the planner, would YOU be happy if you did not continue ?
Like, I said...no real words of wisdom, just a couple of questions:)

Weezl,
I get that the rules are the rules but surely the nature of MSE is that people find out how to spend less. Every week Martin's email goes out to 'rather a lot' of people and it is full of links to commercial sites! So in the spirit of true money saving, no commercial gain etc why can't your site be promoted in the weekly email or on the main site?
No idea how you'd get it sorted though...
Could we set up a thread 'Post here if you want MSE to link to Weezl's Cheap Family Recipes website' and hope that the voice of the people has an impact?GC 2024 £1445.91/£3000

Hello
I'm sorry if I hurt, worried or upset anyone.
I talked to DH about why people might be upset about me not putting time into the website, and he wondered if people are concerned about the loss of the thread and the friendships it represents for all of us.
I'm very sorry if that's the case! I still planned on talking to you on here and hoped others would too, to their friends
Does that help?
In the meantime, I'll watch how we're doing and gird up my loins for more activity if shirl calls me. And I'm hopeful she willI think I'm an incorrigable optimist:D

Thanks Keggie. (did you see all your cooking temps live now?
)
You're all very lovely and supportive
To be honest I think if people on MSE liked valued and used the site, Martin would become aware of it.
Example: Npsmama posted a little thread 3 years ago asking for a failsafe hobnob recipe. Twink posted the one she used. 96 people thanked her post and 'twinks' became a success on old-style and talked about. He mentioned it in his email. Now twinks recipe has been thanked almost 900 times, more than any other I've seen.
Martin didn't mention it because he thought it was the best way to save a family millions of pounds, it's just a biscuit recipe! (a nice one, and I'm not saying anything bad about twinks). He mentioned it because people on the forums thought it was worth mentioning.
I agree with you that the voice of the people would be effective in helping shirley.
However I am too close to the project to see why the voice of the people is not active about this project.
If it's just that it's not active yet, cool, I'll wait and see.
Or maybe it doesn't have more value than currently. Cool, I'll maintain what we've got now, it's still valuable
And finally: thank you Morag, the relief I felt when I read your post was indescribable and if I could thank your post more than once you'd beat those hobnobs into a c0cked hat!

I can't get my pics to load onto photobucket grrr.
I'll happily eat oats in biscuits and cakes, just not as porridge. Not only does it tatse vile but there is also the emotional aspect of it. It was the one and only time in my childhood I was forced to eat something (my parents never forced us, we would go hungry but we were never force fed) and it was a horrible experience (which possibly led to my fear of vomiting). Besides that, as I am not following the menu exactly, I have space to avoid the stuff.
Oat and raisin cookies, oatty muffins, flap jacks, oat scones... yummy
Pizzas turned out well btw!
I don't have a pudding basin, what can I use instead?
Alternatively the fairies can fly you one, no probs, ping me your address

"SOMEONE" needs to start a thread (somewhere/elsewhere) inviting people to road test the website, the plan, the menus, the food. I know there's already been testers, but that's within this little community and prior to the webby being 'complete'. Now it needs a wider audience, more Shirleys and half-Shirleys and part-time-Shirleys to find out how this would work in the outside world.0

Who is Shirley?
I have a plastic thingy a christmas cake came in, I'll use that.0 -
