Oh, I'm behind your thinking for the planner generally. I disagree with some of the nutritive choices, but then I was vegan for several years, changing because of food miles issues, so have a rather unusual take on these things.

And my marketing advice you may have with pleasure - for what it's worth. Please bear in mind I've only ever worked in marketing officially for 6 months, and am currently an undergraduate student, so know only a little...

I will try to think about some of these things for you after my exam tomorrow (last one for this year!). But the general rule of thumb is to get it out there, so if folks are offering to spread the word on Twitter and Facebook, let 'em! Even better, give a range of "linkies" on your website for people to embed in their blogs, Facebook pages, Livejournal etc...( most webcomics have examples of these!), so you have consistency in your message...
I think people are telling folks on MSE about the resource, I don't quite see where your worry about that has come from...your pageviews already suggest that the initial word is getting round...it's surely time to capitalise on that, and make tweaks as you need to later.

I am drunk and it is fabulous!!! Got my work in an hour before the deadline yay!!!!:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer:

Potty your wine lives up to expectations, both mr arty and I like it.:D It certainly does have a 'hint of strawberry' but is quite potent. Infact so potent I have offered to treat me. mr arty and a friend to a pub dinner all on me!!!:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I see what you are seeing weezlie about people spreading it by word of mouth but think it is a bit of an odd view to take.:o I completely agree we should do no more till we see if people are using it but surely by trying to let lots of people know it helps as many people as possible.

However it is your baby and I'v followed your advice so far and not got into any problems (apart from the bread grrrrr) so will support whatever you want to do.:D

Hope I havent offended anyone-like I said I'm drunky drunk:) (blame potty)

ok so what I'm trying to get my head around is our hiddenness really.

I'm sure you've seen as I have people's enormous willingness to offer shirls a tip like 'add oats to your mince' or 'have you tried the 7p super noodles', I feel I'm often reading this advice being given. People also offer evening meal ideas.
    I dunno.

Do I just sound really stubborn?

    Yes you do:D

Gets drunk on malibu, black nail varnish and stubborn. Not at all the placid matronly lady I had imagined.:D:rotfl:

I think I now see what you are getting at weezl. Instead of people advising 'bulk out mince', 'drop a brand', '7p curry sauce', 'use stardrops'# etc etc etc we want them to say 'go to weezls fabulous website its all there?

If that is the case (like I said I am drink so I could have got it wrong) do you have a cut off point where ypu will see a certain amount of hits and then think 'yes its working off we go agian??

I'm not saying I want them to, I'd never want to manipulate people. But I'd be very encouraged if we had something people thought was worth saying that about. And I'd get a sense of whether it's worth throwing lots more time at :)

But I have only one life, and I really need to know I'm investing it in the right things for the right reasons.

    I'll never get another go.

I've lurked since the very start of this project and am only delurking now to put in my 2d worth.

weezl is very well aware of the MSE site rules and has no wish to have her Posting Privileges Removed (PPR) or, to put it another way, get kicked off MSE for good

The MSE rules state clearly that she must not promote, mention or link to her own site and that she must not ask or encourage others to do so on her behalf.

I will now relurk and go and delurk on the "If things get tougher" thread. :D

    OK....sooooo

-you are reluctant to put more time into this project without knowing if it is reaching people and working (which I definitely agree with)
-you would like to see MSE peoples refer to it (completely naturally and with no manipulation) as it would show 'word of mouth is working' (once again I agree with)

These are all very good points HOWEVER I think what people are saying is that if we want to see it grow/continue why cant advertising play a part of that?

However I think I can now see where you are coming from (sortof)

It does makes me sad to see you saying you only have one life and want to continue it for the right reasons etc.. as I feel maybe you feel too much of your personal time has been put into this, especially with having such little children.

Is there anything else we could all do to help??

  • You're in a bind aren't you?

MSE rules dont allow you to be the promoter or to encourage us to promote ( light dawns slowly in the QOS grey stuff).

So, even if you wanted to say " go tell it on the mountains (well mse) and every wher-er" you couldn't.

Hmmmz, could the website have a small forum attached for such discussion?

Now a difficult tightrope to walk between the website and MSE I guess. Might feel motivated to post on my facebook when we get back, ;-).

ps it's not so much a real permission, as a perception that you're the boss, it's your baby and many of us ( me) have adopted a follower role and await instruction :-).

But I think I am reading you here between the lines "boss" :D.

Off for a bit to the grocery store to spend more than a hundred pounds to feed 5 of us for a week :(.

I can't get my pics to load onto photobucket grrr.

I'll happily eat oats in biscuits and cakes, just not as porridge. Not only does it tatse vile but there is also the emotional aspect of it. It was the one and only time in my childhood I was forced to eat something (my parents never forced us, we would go hungry but we were never force fed) and it was a horrible experience (which possibly led to my fear of vomiting). Besides that, as I am not following the menu exactly, I have space to avoid the stuff.

Oat and raisin cookies, oatty muffins, flap jacks, oat scones... yummy :D

    Pizzas turned out well btw!

I don't have a pudding basin, what can I use instead?
