Can I get some thoughts please.

My meal plan for this week (Fri-Thurs). Breakfasts as I said are cereal or toast, they won't change and I don't have the time for anything else.

Friday - Lunch, bean pate and bread. Dinner, Pizza with wedges (Friday is Pizza day, quick dinner as the boys go to a club)

Saturday - Lunch, Soup (mushroom or lentil, we have burly blokes working in the loft). Dinner, Chilli and rice.

Sunday - Lunch, left over soup. Dinner, Chicken and onion pie, tatties, vegetable (probably frozen veg).

Monday - Lunch, Pate sandwich or soup (if any left). Dinner, Bacon and onion pudding, tatties or wedges and veg (carrots)

Tuesday - Lunch, pate or nut butter sandwich. Dinner, Pasta alfredo.

Wednesday - Lunch, pate or nut butter sandwich. Dinner, Risi e bisi

Thursday - Lunch, nut butter sandwich. Dinner, pasta carbonara.

Snacks - Carrot cake, toast, scones, fruit, carrot sticks.

looks good to me tia :)

Anything in particular you wanted folks thoughts on?

If friday tea needs to be made quickly, then make the bread dough another day and part-bake the pizza bases cos that's a lengthy job, which is why it was on a saturday. But that's the only thing where I can think you might find the timings tricky :)

Looks ok to me but do you work? If so def make the bacon pudding and cook it at the weekend or you wont be eating til about 9pm at night. It will reheat nicely in the oven and takes about 20mins. Also speaking from experience (i did the planner) the porridge can be cooked in the same length of time it takes to make toast and is more filling. If you are really pushed for time put all ingreds apart from the water in your pan the night before and then switch pan on with the water in the morning stir for about 4 mins and Bobs your uncle (hope not he has been a pain:rotfl:) HTH xx

weezl, word of mouth is great...but I still worry about your insistence in not using the new "word of mouth" tools, like Facebook. This IS how people tell each other things now!

I'm not, not using it, just not using it yet IYSWIM?

If we're popular on here and then I invest lots more time and planner 3 and 2 goes live, I'd certainly be up for the FB route.

I just think things have to be popular amonst their home, local environment, or they don't stand a cat in whotnot's chance anywhere else.

Whatever is getting in the way now would get in the way there a hundredfold surely?

But you're the expert, can you help me understand where my thinking has gone wrong on this?:) I'd like it if you would.

I honestly don't think it's a few typos that are getting in the way, folk write to shirley all the time on MSE with far worse spelling and grammar than mine :rotfl:

    I hope that doesn't sound rude, I don't mean it to :o

I hate porridge, was force fed it by my grandad when I was younger. Though of it makes me bleurgh... I use a toaster, so Toast in while I dress DS2, then I eat it as I run about. 3 children to be ready by 9am in the morning, it's just easier to use cereal.

Shanks, I don't work, but I may try and make stuff at night when kids are in bed ready to pop in the next day. Thanks for pointing it out.

I did just make the bean pate, I think it's yum, more like a dip just now, will it thicken after being in the fridge? (cayenne pepper instead of chilli powder cos I've none). Bit spicy for the kids so will make a different batch with less pepper.

Hmmm, can I mix plain flour with bread flour for teh pizza bases? Then I could make some tonight and freeze. I have about 400g bread flour

Tia i hated porridge as well but this stuff is a lot nicer dont know why maybe as an adult my tastes have changed or maybe its the addition of the oaty cereal or the raisins but worth at least one try.

which new piccies shanks m'lovely? (bit worried now as I've not added any, only resized some!)

PS tia and shanks you're both from scotland and weren't fond of porridge at the start...

Is it just a myth about the scots and porridge? :rotfl:

Tia, it will thicken :) it's quite a strong flavour the idea being you have it spread quite thinly, (more cheaperer then see?:p)

Not sure if plain flour has enough gluten in tia, but the worst that could happen is they'd be a diddy bit smaller and more like a scone-based pizza. But don't risk it if it's too much potential wastage of ingredients
