Hang on... you don't want us to link to it?? Is that right?? Just to wait and see?

I'm even more confused now... :rotfl:

Whatever you decide - Please take Kester/Ferg/AM time! They need loads of your time. Plan 1 is done and plan 2 and 3 are part done with various lovely recipes floating about. Well done! :T You are very dedicated to this but you need you/your family time too!

Hi Weezl, :hello:re the promoting/not promoting the website - I found this thread - and subsequently your website (which is great btw ) through someone linking to it in their diary on the DFW board. I think word of mouth is the way ideas like this spread and that might take some time. Atm I'm just picking and choosing recipes to try rather than following the planner but it's something I will look at doing in the future.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know how I found the thread and website in case it helps. Well done to you all for the testing. :T

I will be starting the menu on Friday (shopping day) so what week should I start in? Just week 1?

I won't be using the breakfasts, my lot only eat cereal for breakfast and I only have time for toast... usually if I'm lucky. But I'm going to give the lunches and mains a bash.

    Some questions from me :D

Bean pate, the full can of beans including the sauce into the pan? Or do you drain them?

Can I use real mustard and garlic (or garlic paste) rather than powdered?

How will anyone know about it in order to reach the Shirleys out there if we don't do at least a tiny bit of something? I know you're not ASKING us to, but I think a lot of us are offering! (if not to do anything ourselves, then at least to help brainstorm)
sorry to have been confusing :o

Aless I might be wrong, but I believe that a lot of people have read this thread and the previous one.

If it's of value (the website)

those who've seen it will tell others. If they saw it and didn't value it, they won't.

And I'll know, I check frequently. The hours spent thus far are worth it on the interest generated thus far and I don't begrudge that one iota :).

A few people on MSE have recommended the website to shrleys on MSE. Sashybo's given a really good example of that.

Don't worry chaps, if it happens I will see it, and I will invest more time.

Because I really want to help shirley.

But it does have to actually help her, IYSWIM?

Am I doing any better on the clarity front? :rotfl:

oh tia! that's cool :) I really hope you all enjoy it.

start wherever you like, there's enough meals for a 31 day month. the way it's laid out on the site means there's a meaty sundayish sunday dinner, but if that doesn't work for your lot, just eat sunday on a wednesday-I won't know (or care :D)

sorry you added your questions after I replied to you! Yes, the whole can, the juices add (beleive it or not) to 5 a dayness and make the pate moist and tomatoey.

Spices, use what you have in, but if buying new, and if trying to be super frugal, dried is the best bang for your buck :D

Weezl, I've been following this thread and your previous one avidly, though not testing, as I have an onion allergy, and that rules out the vast bulk of your meals for me!

I have some marketing experience, and am currently studying the subject, and am frightened to death by your concept of not promoting this. It's a sure way to make the project die on it a***, if you'll pardon the expression, and that would be criminal after all the work that's been done.

People no longer have time to find all the things they need by talking to friends and family - and what about the poor Shirley's who have no close friends or family because their circumstances have changed (perhaps why they need the plan), or they suffer from illness, or...

See my point. i think it is a very fatalistic view to take, and would result in massive reductions in your page views in no short order. Besides, how will you tell if you've helped a Shirley who visits once, prints the whole thing and then never returns?
Better if she knows there will be upgrades and new plans in the near future to keep her coming back, looking to ring the changes, so you can "keep an eye" on her as she learns to fish...

    De lurks....

Yeah, I can fully understand why you would want to take a breather and see how the project goes down before you commit further time and energy, but, I think it would be a shame not to publicise it as much as possible.
I can imagine that many Shirleys would be embarrassed about debt and would not like friends and families to know, and so are not going to find out through the friend telling them route.
It's the kind of thing that would be good to get Martin to mention on one of his GMTV slots.
