Arty that looks delicious wish my ex would do something like that however he is not very good in the baking department but a reasonable cook and he hates olives and toms so i better not hold my breath eh?
Cant believe we have done a whole month and tomorrow is the last day where does the time go? Think i am getting a bit too involved in this as i am looking at recipes and in my head saying ...... "£3.20? £3.20? thats ridiculous i could feed myself for 4 days for that how can you spend £3.20 on 1 dish?" maybe taking this challenge too much to heart eh?:rotfl::rotfl:
However it has made me think hard about what i do spend and i will be trying a lot harder when i next do my shop and will keep a lot of Shirleys meals and snacks for the following month so it, for me has been a worthwhile experiment and as an added bonus made a lot of new like minded friends. I look forward with a little trepidation to our next experiment and hope it is as useful and fun as this one has been. Well done to everyone who has taken part and thanks for all the support throughout this month it has been nice knowing that others have been doing the same as me and having somewhere to chat about the process.
As an aside i have heaps of onions and lard left and also ready brek (and i had the porridge most mornings). The toms and beans i did have in the cupboard already so not sure if i am over on them but prob am as ex doesnt eat beans. Apart from that everything else is ok. Pots were finished the other day but were starting to go and the carrots were a bit manky but still usable if you cut bits off.0 -
aww poor arty...dont give up thoug...just think how excited you wil be when you have a perfect loaf!! Potato bread may be an option as dont think it can go wrong...let me know if you want a recipe. Doesent taste of potato by the way - just has a lighter texture than the no knead - somewhere between no knead and shop bought!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
