I do hope you are feeling better, Weezl, and not pushing yourself too hard too soon !

Off the top of my head, I'd add carbonara, amatriciana and bean curry to the level 1 list. I'll give it more of a think soon as I get a chance :)

Thanks for the pep talk, ISOM and mangojoesno1fan :T

ETA: Oh, I see Arty has bean curry in level 3 ! Oh dear, that's quite a bit of a difference of opinions.... :rotfl:

I would definitely put bean curry as level 1. But then I'd also have the cottage pie & chili there as well, as they're things I make all the time and basically involve just dumping things into a pot and letting them cook. The puddings definitely level 3. Just my opinion!

    Ok here is my opinion

    Level 1

    Both pates
    Omelette
    Soups
    All pasta dishes
    Risi e bisi
    Porridge
    Apple curd
    Chicken pie
    Pizza
    Carrot cake
    Pancakes
    Chilli
    Cottage pie
    Houmous
    Bean curry
    Veggie burger

    Level 2
Onion tart (for cooking time only)
    Bread
Nut butter (for the crushing of the nuts not the recipe itself)
    Risotto
    Scones, biscuits and savoury snacks

    Level 3
Bacon pudding (only for the cooking time as you need to make sure the water doesnt boil dry)

This might cause you more problems than it solves as i think it would depend on your ability and confidence to start with but i hope i am proved wrong:)

The spicy rissoles we had last night were really scrummy and too much for my sons big appetites. Sh.. don't tell them they were veggie burgers:)

We served them with tomato relish and DS2 decided he was bored with wedges so we had potato rosti (made by him). Rosti was too greasy with the burgers/rissoles

Rating the recipes in order of difficulty was difficult as I always got my youngsters to make bread first before anything else as you can't really ruin it and it gives confidence.

    Level One
    porridge
    Apple curd
    tomato relish
    soups
    bean curry
    humous
    veggie burger
    carbonara
    bread
    scones
    biscuits
    omelette
    chilli
    tomato pasta
    nut butter
    spicy bean pate

    level two
    carrot cake
    pasta alfredo (roux sauce)
    bacon pudding
risi e bisi and risotto -because you need to saty with it all the time!
chicken pie and bacon and onion puding
    cottage pie
    pizza

    level three
    onion tart

I have sorted the recipes into one stage, two stage and more than two stages (onion tart)

All are things I would make with year sevens except the baking blind etc. and the steamed puddings, more for lack of time than anything else. We made pizza by making the dough one lesson and the toppings next lesson. Nothing at all is what would be thought of as difficult.

I am so disorganised today I haven't looked to see what is tonight's dinner. Must go as I will have three hungry people here soon.
