Hi all,
We had the omelette this evening. We also need to make more bread. It's proving to be quite popular
I have a confession to make....we ended up in Tesco's earlier in the week and bought some fresh fruit, salad and sandwich things. Also some cordial.
After posting to say I was hoping to make it through till the end, DH and I had an argument that was unrelated but ended up with us in Tesco.
we have still not spent our normal monthly budget so it's not really a problem, but I would have liked to have been successful...oh well, families hey!
As far as ease of meals is concerned. I would say that:
Baked bean curry
spanish omelette
chilli
cottage pie
are definitely easy and 'fuss free' to make. I have found most of the other stuff fiddley, but not difficult.
I'm not sure if that's any help.
So, at the moment, while we aren't really 'on plan' I'm alternating between veggie and meat meals and so using some of our normal meals and our favourites from the plan...I hope that's ok weezl0 -
My DH has just rebelled too. Not in a major way but he would like some meat tonight please says he and CHIPS! very loudly! I have decided to give in as he has been on thr roof all day and it is very windy and he is very hungry.
To remain frugal I have taken some sausage meat out of the freezer and have made some pastry to make a sausage plait and chips and beans for the men and I will have leftover burger from yesterday with some beans and potato. I still have quite a lot of oil so I made the pastry with vgetable oil and plain flour.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

The onion tart is definitely a level 3 as it needs quite a bit of attention and faff.
Further thought on the veggie burgers yesterday. At the moment the recipe tells you to leave the mixture as long as you can. I think it would be useful to give an indication of how long that might be. I left mine 1.5 hours, which was fine. I looked at it after an hour and it would probably have been ok then too (but DH wasn't home at that point, so I left it longer). Shirley will need to know this, so they don't end up eating too late that night0 -

weezl People rave about the 'love food, hate waste' site. I've not used it myself, but certainly something to give ideas for left overs or how to reinvent something on the menu that the family don't like would be a good thing.0

Ok
So we made the burgers earlier and put them in the fridge to solidify (this is what we do with normal burgers) and went to the gym.
In the gym we were invited out for a meal so mr arty decided he would eat out but I declined and said I would have the veggie burgers and then join him.
They made lovely burger shapes and stayed like that whilst cooking:j BUT
I'v just started eating them and this is the one and only recipe I dislike immensely:(-obviously other people have had them and liked them so its my personal taste (before you start apologising weezlie!!) so I'm off to the pub to eat there.:o
I'm really sorry but I'm starving and if I start to make something new now everyone will have gone home by the time I'm done-I know its a cope out and my only excuse is I'm a student and I like the pub:o
I think today I am pleased I'm not Shirley and in debt:A
