Just wanted to give you a big hug arty. How horrible of her to be so rude.
I have had a similar thing happen to me, so you are not alone....don't let such a nasty person get you down..lots of love xxxxxxx0 -
yes, i am a yank. No offense taken at all
. U can buy tinned pumpkin in waitrose - it lives by the other tinned fruit. Not every branch seems to carry it, but i've never had huge difficulty in obtaining any. I confess i've never used real pumpkin before!!
I went to Morton, Ilinois, last September. It is the pumpkin capital of the world and home of Libby's pumpkin, the type you can buy in Waitrose. It's brilliant, I was there for the Pumpkin Festival, they had a parade down the street and everything, it is quintessential small town America!God is good, all the time

DP hacked at the loaf and had 2 thick slices to try it and made it go all skew whiff. Counting the slices he had, and after I had straightened it and sliced it up, they came to 22 slices. So if it had been sliced up in neat thin slices, as Weezl said you would probably get 30 alright out of it. My slices weren't quite that thin this time, it is something else I am learning how to do in bread making. I have a lovely slicing machine that I was hoping to be able to use to make nice, even slices, but it stuffs them out the side and in the process crumples them and they break.
Considering how much bigger each slice is compared to the 2lb loaf tin version, I was surprised how similar they are in price. I much prefer this sized slice0 -
sandra/frugalmumof4, can I please ask for some vegan recipe help?:A
Whilst some of us have found vegan pastry ok made with oil, SR flour and water, others have found it tricky. This could be for many reasons including temperatures of our houses or hands or even our tap water.
So I wondered if you could see if there's a more fool proof vegan pastry.
The only thing is, could it please not contain that really expensive 'pure' margerine, cos I don't think Kitty and James can afford it :rotfl::o
Also sandra, I've been looking more into selenium. I think we've got 42% of RDA met already through the flour and rice in the planner, and one or two other small contributors. So my maths is that we need 2 bags of brazil nuts (ie 400g) to top up the remaining 58%. Does that roughly tally up with the figures you have?
I totally agree this needs to be delivered through the nut spread, since they ideally need to eat it a minimum of every other day, and by combining with the other nuts and having for breakfast seems ideal.
I'm planning on fortifying the bread with the milled oaty cereal, so that that breakfast is calcium rich too

Artybear, I always think that people who are critical of others miss out on a lot. We need to see the world with gentle kind eyes. The woman who insulted you sounds like she has a harsh view of others looks, I expect that leads to quite an unhappy life.
I think personally that women come in all sorts of lovely shapes and sizes and that curves are very attractive.
Hope you feel more ok about the interview soon too. What a horrid few days you've had
xxxxxxxxxx
I'm feeling frustrated that I can't make our project go any quicker, because my life just isn't in that place. I really don't want to make Kester's early days go quicker, I want to savour them. But I also know that so many people could really benefit from our meal plans. I'd love to have the resources to get it out there quickerI think the website will need 20-30 more of my hours to launch something 'good enough' and I'm beavering away at planner 3 as well.
What do people feel about getting planners 1 and 3 out there in some more public way sooner and putting number 2 on a back burner until those 2 are launched?

Thanks shanks77 for the info about the roux. Really appreciate it
Arty : - you poor thing, that awful woman. I get that all the time, because i used to be really skinny (as in anorexic), i get really upset about it. Just think your healthier and happier than she ever will be and she will get her comeuppance. hugs hun x
Wish i was closer so i could give you the hug you deserve x Also very to hear about the nasty comments your DS had at school. How horrible, poor him and you.
Howlin did post some useful info about making a roux sauce on the last thread, does anyone know how to find it for Kezlou?
xx

thanks for finding the info for me, your all so kind . My internet went off and i couldn't get back on till now. I think it made it right, i just did what i normally do for cheese sauce (macaroni cheese style). It turned out alright in the end.
I em lied to my OH about the use of lard, so after he ate 3/4 of the pasta dish. I cheekily made trout with it. I had it in already and DS2 and DS1 love fish.
He asked what i did make it with, so when i mentioned lard, he went so thats why it tastes so different in Italian restaurants?!
Were all right now, my DS2 is feeling a little bit better now. He's been on a low for a while, what with him being bullied etc so it just him quite bad. I cheered him up rhubarb and ice cream.
The school is like that all over esp with food, they thought goats cheese was weird and not suitable for school. I soon had a go at them.
Oops i've written a really message sorry all:o0 -
