When you say fully laced up do you mean that there is no gap when the lacing is done? If so, this is wrong. Your lacing needs to be approx 5" at the top going narrower to the bottom where it will be closed. If the former is the case, it means the dress needs to be taken in at the sides. Adjustments can be made at the shop/dressmakers discression, but I'd try not to lose any more weight this close to the day. HTH

No - it's not 100% together all the way. At the top is still 5 inches or so. It's just that at the waist it doesn't 'cinch' me in much (at all). I'd really liked the dress for the shape it gave me, but to an extent I have kind of created the shape myself now, so don't need the additional help I suppose.

I've never successfully lost weight before, and I'm really getting a buzz out of it, so it's hard to stop. Silly as that sounds!

Anyway, 19 days to go by my calculations. I am terrified and excited in equal measures!! Even writing those words has given me a bit of a flutter in my stomach. _pale_ but also :j

I think we are ready... I THINK. But it seems like I should be doing more! I am also dealing with builders in the house this week, a brand new serious job (where people seem to expect me to work!) and keeping the OH calm too.

It's quite exciting as people are coming from around the world, and some of them have started their trips already (there's that flutter again). Mum and Dad have flown to Dublin from Sydney, where they are seeing family for a week. A friend is now in South Africa seeing family, then on the way here... My sister is leaving Beijing next week, and asking for 'final' things to pick up. So exciting, so terrifying - not sure why!!

I only have another week left at work now!
I had said that I would have everything sorted by now but I don't!

I'm undecided on my hair as I have the option of a veil or headband. OR I could use a flower in my hair.
Does anyone know how flowers are put in hair (am totally clueless)

We still haven't sorted the transport to the airport either, anyone have any tips for airport one way car hire? It has to be a hire car and on a sunday! (we are near an airport so can use the companies there)

Which reminds me... I still haven't had a hair trial. Will chase the hairdresser today! Ask google about putting a flower in your hair - I am sure it's a common issue. I am thinking about what to put in my hair. At the moment it is nothing, but that also depends on the hairdresser working out the right style!
  • Only 5 days to go!

I am really excited...had my hen night on Friday just gone and had a lovely time. No pictures as my sister in law's took them all night and Is not going to give me them on disc until after the wedding as they need them, enough was said lol I think they are going to do something special for me with them, like a photo album or something.

    How's everyone else feeling?

Right now I'm feeling very sorry for myself...got a cold sore on my lip, toothache (seeing dentist Friday) and hip's been hurting so I've not been going to the gym. I've also been pigging out big time so feel fat and horrible :(
At least today I'm over cursing one of our guests (well 3, a couple plus their son but he's innocent in all this!) as they wouldn't reply to any of our calls/texts/e-mails. They had accepted the invite but wouldn;t get back to us re food choice and then it transpires they can't make it after all...so with less than 3 weeks notice I will invite some other friends but it still messes up my table plan, and if this other couple can't come then I have to rethink again. Why do people have to be so rude - it wouldn't have taken any time to let us know weeks ago rather than have me getting all stressed out now!!!
    And breathe......

i'm an October bride ! 3rd of October . a civil partnership with my OH. can't wait . so exited. we only decoded on this 61 days ago and decided that everything would either fall together or apart. Its all looking great ! It's been a rough few years an we needed something to look forward too ! everything been on a tight budget as we decided this spontaneously but our family's have been brilliant. so everything has been ready for days, just wondering what the cake, our flowers and our hair will actually look like ! We gave individual people our likes and wants so juts have to see how it all looks in the end! might be a bit random but we don't care its all about being together and having a lovely day. I'm wearing black and ivory and my bride ivory . its gonna be so much fun Good luck to every one, we are just counting the days ......
we have gone for an all natural wedding, no diets , no fake tan, no chicken fillets, no false nails. It might not be for everyone but we love each other just the way we are !..... just good food, good friends and good times !
Thank you to all the money savers:beer: for all the wisdom, companionship, bargains, competitions and ideas:T you have made a transformation to our household, Thank you, it would have been so much harder without you and together we are amazing :A:smileyhea

The florist conversation is really hard/annoying. I have no real opinion, and do want to have flowers, but don't want to spend a fortune. I hate when florists say 'what is your budget'. Like I have done this before!! Just tell me what it costs! Or 'How much to you want to spend?'

    grrr...

I am sitting at home making little white boxes... to hold little presents that people won't remember... but that I seem to feel I need!

we had that problem the quote started from £170 upwards with this horrible plastic handle thing ??? What we did in the end was we found a simple but beautiful bouquet made of a few stems of orchids and some bear grass and some ivy, took it to an independent lady and she quoted us £34 each
see the link below maybe it might give you some ideas x good luck anywayx

I am very relaxed and do not feel nervous at all at the moment. Everything is going to plan and nice just to sit back and relax for once, as everything is sorted. Doing last minute check's etc... on Thursday and Friday but that's about it. My O/H is very nervous, he even cried yesterday when we practice our wedding dance, he said he has never loved someone so much and have been waiting for this for ages...I said to him you soppy thing lol Awww bless him!

Going out for a family meal on Friday Lunch and then going to collect my cake, ready for Saturday. Weather forecast is looking excellent at 27 degrees, hot or what!

My first guest arrives tomorrow - although a few have landed in the UK, just around the country. Then Mum arrives Friday and my sister on Saturday. Direct from airport to hens do!

Feeling relatively ready, and less stressed than I have been. One friend has told me to write down all the things to check on on the day (are the cars on the way, have flowers been delivered to the church, are the in-laws safely arrived at the church etc etc) and she will check and chase everything. Which has really made me calmer, as I know she will do things are diligently as I would, and if things go wrong she will just sort it out and tell me when it is solved. :)

    So really appreciate that.

Still need to sort the church booklet, but thats the last big thing that I need to do this week. Just so I can print it at work!
