    so, deposit paid on venue
    registrar booked,
both notices given at the Registry office
    my dress ordered and arrived
cheif bridesmaid (aged 15) dress ordered
    invitations ordered, waiting arrival

ordered bits for table / place cards decorations - will be hand made.
    phew - think thats it!

Did a timeframe to work to last week and had a panic attack!

chelleyb I thought we were mad trying to get married in October (he proposed on 31/5) but you beat me!

    Update:
    Venue sorted and deposit paid
    Guest list done
    Bridesmaid dress ordered
Picked my dress - ordering at end of July when I get paid
Invitations picked - making them myself and buying stuff tomorrow
Cake - picked and meeting with cake lady sorted
Copy Birth Cert ordered - yep lost mine so can't put in forms until I get it
    Forms all completed though
    DJ/Flowers/Room - hotel all sorting

I was all happy 2 weeks ago. I cought my wedding shoes and then realised I had nothing else. Spreadsheet and plan done. My fiance is keeping me on the right track. Thank goodness for him. I get distracted easily, hence the wedding shoes before anything else!!!!!!

Had my first wedding panic last night, it just kicked in that it's not so far away now! All under control but was just having a moment!

    Latest update:
    • Bridesmaid dresses have arrived from eBay, really pleased with them for £35 each made to measure
    • Majority of guests have RSVP'd and accommodation sorted
    • Booked dress fitting for August
    • Lost 4lbs, 4 more to go and will be same weight I was when I got the dress :)
    • Wedding rings sorted (mix up and jewellers with mine, ordered yellow gold but white gold arrived so had to re order)
    • Ideas for wedding "thank you" gifts for wedding party
    • Had first lot of travel injections for honeymoon
    • Draft seating plan done
  • Hello Ladies

I thought I would update the post, as all our weddings are getting closer. I have near enough done everything, the only things I need to get is my Garter, Something borrowed sorted and to give final numbers to the venue for the wedding breakfast and evening buffet. Everything else is sorted and paid for, only 1 month and 2 weeks and 2 days until we get married!

    How is everyone else doing?

This is seriously the quietest wedding thread!

We are nearly there too, although there are lots of costs now coming up this month. All the deposits turn into real money suddenly! Last weekend we were doing the draft seating plan, finalising food choices, and setting up the schedule for the day. I still haven't had my dress delivered which could be a stress if it takes much longer, but they assure me it will arrive in the first week of September. Not a lot of leeway, but long enough.

I don't have something borrowed or blue. Any ideas? My old thing is only 3 years old... do you think that is enough? People seem a bit unsure!

    So things still to do:
Finalise the order of service for the church. Choose some hymns.
    Pay lots of bills
    Hair trial next week
    Sort out dress
    Get shoes
    De-stress my stressed other half
    Buy guest book
Buy calico bags and almonds (actually I suppose I could do that on Ebay tonight)
    Arrange cleaner to come
Make sure my mum is organising Sunday party she wanted
    Oh - get wedding rings!
Hope my sister has sorted her BM dress
    Order cake
    Finalise flowers
Write a nice note (and gift basket?) for people staying at the hotel.
Write questions for quiz (long story)

hmm.. maybe a bit, but nothing feels like too much, and plenty of time. I might do a bit of online shopping today. Always dangerous!
  • For my something borrowed I am borrowing a old hankie from my sister in law, which she got new on her wedding day from her nana. For something blue, my garter will be blue (when I find one)

Your could borrow a piece of jewellery to wear, maybe a bracelet....or Borrow someone's veil! For something blue, it's always the garter (traditionally) or a blue gemstone in a ring or necklace

    Hope that helps

I wish I was as organised as you! I still have invites to go out, not thought about a seating plan.
Haven't got a florist or hair or make up sorted.
So much to do so little time! ah well it will get done eventually.

Am not enjoying the paying of everything at the moment. Or having to make decisions. I'm not really very good at this wedding planning thing. Maybe I am a little bit too relaxed.

Anyone else like this? Or dreading having to talk with florists etc about what they want?

The florist conversation is really hard/annoying. I have no real opinion, and do want to have flowers, but don't want to spend a fortune. I hate when florists say 'what is your budget'. Like I have done this before!! Just tell me what it costs! Or 'How much to you want to spend?'

    grrr...

I am sitting at home making little white boxes... to hold little presents that people won't remember... but that I seem to feel I need!

I did some research online and got 2 quotes for florists which were quite different! We are lucky in that we get some flowers included in our venue package so only paying for bouquets, button holes, cake topper etc.

A good tip for the bouquet - take a photo of your dress. The florist we picked advised me which shape and size of bouquet would be best. Ie. a wide bouquet would block out me and my dress so we agreed on a narrower tear drop shape. I picked flowers I liked, there seems to be no difference in seasonal costs any more as they are all imported.
