Im an October bride

I really don't know why October isn't more popolar - this october just gone was still warm and dry.[Survey site stuff goes here]0 -
Hi All!!
Am so pleased I have found this thread! Seems to have gone quiet though since January!! I am new to MSN and am loving all the ideas etc on here!
I am also getting married on October 15th - seems to be a popular date! We have the church, venue and photographer booked and have had our first meeting with the caterer! We are being lent a morris minor for the day (friend of the OH) and have booked venue decorations so thought I was pretty organised! Seems not though!!
Havent a clue about hair, makeup, hen night goodie bags or even where to go! Also rings, BM dresses, suits.....the list is endless!!
What do you all think should be my next priority?
Thanks for all your ideas so far!

welcome aboard Tina
Somebody did get another October 2011 thread going recently but that didn't have a lot happening either...pretty unpopular month it seems...or exclusive as I prefer to call it
By the way...you didn't mention a dress???0 -
Thanks ellay864! Well, we should make this exclusive thread more happening!! Lol!!
I completely forgot the dress!! Lol! I have chosen the dress and paid deposit. It wont arrive in the shop until June though so that slipped my mind!
How are your plans going? :-)0 -
Not too bad...Linda's making my dress
got the photographer, cars, BM dress and day and evening venue sorted. Have got wedding ring being made and was supposed to be picking it up from shop tomorrow but had car accident tonight....me hurt a little bit, car bit more so...ring on hold yet again and as he took my engagement ring to shape my wedding band I have a very bare left hand!

Well done on getting so much organised! You are much better at planning than i am!!
Sorry to hear about the accident - hope you are ok now? Bad news about the ring! Hopefully you will get it soon and your hand wont feel so bare!! I have only been wearing my engagement ring since Sept but would be lost without it already!
I am getting a bit worried about my invites, my friend offered to make them for me - which is lovely of her! Had a meeting with her a few weeks ago but I havent heard anything since! Text her today and no response! Should I be worried?
Oh well....hopefully I will start being more organised soon! As said, really hope you are feeling better :-)0 -
Hi Everyone,
I too am getting married in October - Sunday 23rd at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham. We're pretty chilled out about the whole affair and haven't organised a great deal yet, apart from the ceremony. We are trying to stick within a budget of about £5000. I thought this was loads of money when we first got engaged, but the list of things keeps growing.
I've started to think about the cars/transport. Does anyone have any ideas for alternative or cheaper methods of transport? Neither me or my fiance are bothered about cars particularly so I really don't see the point in hiring a fancy vintage car. We just want something that looks nice and will take us from the ceremony to the reception. We will also need to get me and bridemaids and mum and dad from my house to the ceremony...again, I don't care for anything too fancy so ideas would be welcome.
Thanks,

Hello, I'm a September bride so hope you don't mind me posting on this thread. I was being nosey
Anyway in response to lazystudent, are there any executive car companies in your area? They're like taxi firms but tend to have slightly more impressive cars like mercs. They're a little more expensive than taxi companies but not much.
Either that or persuade a relative/friend with a nice car to drive you.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I'm hoping to get black London cabs from a local taxi firm as wedding cars - I think they look cool (and they have lots of space for dresses!) Hopefully, they'll be a good price.
Our wedding is on October 29th - seems like ages to wait!

Thanks Codemonkey, I'll have a look for an executive car company. I'm sure there will be plenty around, so I guess it will be worth doing a bit of haggling!
Have looked at three possible reception venues today and it's all a bit of a headache. We really liked one, but it's a hotel too so the minimum spend is rather large...just trying to figure out whether enough guests would want to stay. Do people think asking guests to pay £110 for a room and breakfast is a lot? The wedding is in London.
Thanks everyone,
