October 2011 brides

I'm another October 2011 bride. We got engaged on 28/07/10, visited and booked venue on 30/07/10!! Have waited nearly 5 years though so just getting on with it. We were going to go for February 2012 but I decided I just couldn't wait that long so went for October 2011. We have provisionally booked venue for 08/10/11, spoken to photographer and provisionally booked him and contacted registrar. Next job is find a band! We are planning to go to Scottish Wedding Show in October so hoping to get some ideas then. Will be a year to go that weekend so be a good start to the count down!!

I'm getting marrie don 20 October 2011 in Las Vegas. I got my dress last weekend as it was on sale and I made a £500 saving on it. It will need altering (but all wedding dresses do, apparently), but won't get that done until about 3 months before. We're making the Save the Date cards - cards and embelishments ordered - and the invitations. Although we're tying the not in Vegas, we'll have an evening reception type thing back here, so all our friends and family can celebrate with us. In Vegas, we'll have the ceremony under a chapel gazebo and then take our wedding party to the Sklon Restaraunt (On Top of the World) as a kind of wedding breakfast, although we're not able to book for a provate room this far in advance, so have to call them 3 months before the wedding to do that.
My mum is doing the silk flower bouquet and the button holes for Vegas, my Godmother will do the real flower arrangements for the reception, my sister is doing the cake as she has her own cake business, so we're doing pretty well so far, I think! We can't gove notice of marriage yet as it's still over a year away. So things are ticking away nicely now

Hello everyone im getting married 14th oct 2011. How far has everyone else got? people keep telling me im doing too much too early but the way i see it im just getting jobs done so theres less to worry about nearer time, especially when were trying to stick to a tight budget. so far we have :
got venue, church booked, photographer, cake, dress, save the dates, invites maybe, guest transport to venue, bridesmaids dresses almost (thats another issue but hopefully il sort it), favours, bouquets and button holes. His parents want to arrange cars and suits so im not thinking about that. I feel i still have tons to do, how far have you all got?

I'm October 15th. There don't seem to be that many Oct 2011 brides... ages ago I did start a thread but it never got very far, not like some of the summer ones that have pages and pages lol

Thought I would join in 'cos there are so few October brides.
My daughter is getting married on October 15th as well, we have loads of things still to do but can't understand why October isn't more popular- fingers x the weather is usually ok.:rotfl:

I'm getting married in October 2011 too!

Our date is the 29th which is the last day of summer - the clocks go back that night so everyone gets an hour extra in bed.

I should be getting married on Oct 1st.
(I read a lot but very very rarely post)
Managed to get a few bits (venue and dress mainly) sorted quickly as was meant to be getting married next year.

Yes there seems to be a lack of October Brides lol I suppose because people think Ocotber is going to be horrible weather, which sometimes it is, but it can also rain in the summer as well...it's britian for you lol

Exactly! Last year October 30th was warm and sunny here in the West Country.
