  • Lots of good advice about taking it easy my Bulgarian dynamo :D. Can I recommend colouring in... sounds daft but if you find an intricate pattern and just colour it in, it will help relax that racing brain of yours... if it doesn't work the pencils will make good missiles to hurl at MrFW :D.

Take it easy my friend, Thriftyxxx
  • I love colouring in! My GS at the age of 2 is just getting into it now and it gives me the excuse to sit and do it too - very relaxing.

OK! It was not much and it was not hard but...I did do some work today. It was fine - this was in the 'productive' rather than 'busy' category. Apart from this I am cooking a scheme which may get somewhere. Will let you know when it is clearer.

Apa from that it is more of the same. Hot weather does not mix well with not being able to take a proper shower and an elastic stocking. As to showers this took quite a bit of ingenuity but now I practice for the time when we all run out of water every day. I fill the sink, put a bit of soap in and wash using a towel. Then fill the sink with clear water and repeat. Still he and people do get close to me (and DS3 hasn't said yet that I stink).

All this takes so long...that I have hardly any energy left for anything else.

Now probably will go to bed.

Imagine me at the moment going to bed. We bought these folding beds - our apartment is lovely but we do not need large furniture that takes loads of space all the time. Btw, the beds are great and very, very comfortable. Only that...

Last night OH made my bed. I sat on it and...the bed turned over. He managed to fold one set of legs. Oh dear! After that he said that it is not the bed, it was the elephant on it. Naughty OH! But as a result I know that my leg is so much better.

Apart from that, I did manage to work today but everything takes so much longer. At the moment I procrastinated even washing; it is a bit of an art form though. Had some not nice e-mails from work - need to think how to get what needs to be done.

Poor OH. I hope you are both ok.

Take it easy. Good luck with recovery. I am going away for one week with Steve and Andy (my new family) and i hope you recover and rest.

I thought you were on sabbatical? Should they be pestering you?

I'm glad you had your vein done. It does worry me that the NHS is ignoring such things. :(
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Tricia, yep sabbatical it is. But I have a very, very prestigeous research project to put to bed (mainly writing and marketting called dissemination). So, have to continue talkin g to admin for a bit - but we shall overcome.

Yep, worrying about the NHS. These things are plain dangerous. But it is driving me mad - I want a proper shower and I want it now! DS3 just told me that I stink (and I wash but in very imaginative ways).

Right! I have big news today - remember the paper I kept working on earlier in the year? Well, it was just sent to a journal; not very stared one (the latest obsession in British academe) but well raed. I have alwasy preferred to be read than to be counted.

And the paper rocks - the arguement flows like a river from the plains, deep and easy to follow. The writing is my trademark - the kind that makes you want to read more. Just hope that the referees will be able to see all that but hopeful - it is hard to miss. And always ready to accept any suggestions that will make it better.

    So there.

Apart from that, today I walked for couple of hours in the park - lovely. I'll publish pictures at some point. We also got free ice-tea - there was a promotion of ice-tea lemon.
