"They" - that is the medical profession - used to say that the third day after an op is when it really hits you. My experience is like yours - I think "It's done, now let's get on with life!".
My dad (retired GP) told me the same, as apparently that's when the after effects of the anaesthetic wear off. He's right. Both time this year I've been ok for the first two days with no pain, and been completely wiped out on the third.

And FW - my op didn't involve my legs, but lack of exercise is making them hurt so much I've resorted to wearing my lovely stockings at times. As I was treated by the NHS they are a particularly attractive shade of green :p

But did you know that if you "ahem" accidently runthem through a washing machine with a dylon dye they magically turn glorious colours - not saying anything - but [STRIKE]pink[/STRIKE] navy stockings seemed to go with so much more of my wardrobe LOL

Ha! Mine was purchased at the princely sum of £18 and is/was white. It also has pink bits where the silicone elastic is:rotfl:. And DH still calls it a passion killer - I just don't know what some people want and expect, really:D.

Today stocking will be taken off and washed. This is my main task for the day.

I don't intend wearing them in public, but I will be using them instead of flight socks as they are much nicer!

Off to try to find some energy and tackle the airing cupboard. I need to get it clean as I have nearly 3 weeks' worth of laundry stacked up...

My friend who is the temporary Manager of the playgroup found out this morning that she has got the tutors post at local college - YAY!!!!

So quickly home and threw a cake in the oven(from my wonderful Hummingbird Recipe book that a lovely Matrix member sent me - and it my pride a joy)

Hopefully it will be cool enough to whizz back with at 10.30 to catch her and the kids at snacktime.

    .............. any excuse for cake

Hope William is OK and just keeping his head down.

We just came back from a small expedition involving a coffee bar visit. Nice! No shouting at poor OH today (yet). On the contrary - talking in the coffee bar we worked out a rather interesting idea that is being written this afternoon and published tonight. Together we rock!

DS3 is sending wishes to the universe after watching The Secret last night; mainly for a BMX bike and for this funny looking skate board thing. But he is grateful for much more sensible things (like having a mummy, for instance).

    Hey FW

Have you tried podcasts? There are some good ones on the LSE website.

Thanks Lara. I have seen those and the university has done some of me. But podcasts and webinars, I vbelieve are as different as the Roman Forum and the Greek Agora - one is where an anouncement is made (a lecture is delievered) and the other is the space where knowledge emerges in interaction. Both are valuable and I need the Agora.
