No gun licence here but when we were kids we did target shooting with air rifles. Recently we had a corporate day out and I chose to do shooting - came third. And yes, I am pacifist as well.

Oh and BF's brother has a clay shoot track, I can't wait to have a go...

I don't like guns.... but I do like archery. I consider myself a fairly good shot.... I don't know if I would have been brave enough to have gone for the apple though...!!

I'm getting worried that you all seem to have had gun licences: who am I virtually hanging round with?! ;)

It appears you are hanging round with a bunch of gun crazy pacifists. Count yourself lucky - it can be much worse.

    Amazing, though!

  • Ooooh do you know what I love - those indoor Lazer Blast games, where you run around with vests on shooting lazers at each other. I just have to win, sooo competitive, Dirty Harry eat your heart out or maybe that should be Cagney and Lacey - showing my age now :rotfl:.

Air rifles, arrows....all we need now is someone with a sub-machine gun licence! We'll defend you Pickle.

All was done - shopping, cooking and time at the local fair. This one was fun - although today has been about 10,000 calories day. One thing I didn't manage to do today is run - really have to change this. This is why tonight I am doing myself a training programme to remind me that I have a marathon to train for and run.

Little Boy was allowed to go to the fair on his own (with a friend but no embarrasing parents); well the park is about 7 min away from our house and most of the people there know him and us. He spent a fortune on sweets (and ate all of them) and bought a soft toy - a kangaroo with a little one. Guess who is who? Touching, isn't it - on the one hand a grown up, independent boy and on the other - a little boy who still needs his mummy. Interesting times...

I am still writing - and loving it. Learning more and more about money, and how banks work, how they shave off little bits hear and there is fascinating...but it also puts the world in a completely different perspective.

Just putting my frogs in order for today. No doubt the biggest and the ugliest will be to do a weekly training programme for myself and stick it to a visible place. Problem is, my study is becoming like something from Hundred Years of Solitude (remember, when everyone started to forget the names of objects they stuck pieces of paper withe the names everywhere). There are mind-maps, dreams, plans, blog ideas, referee's comments - all stuck to different places. But shall find a little bit more for my marathon training programme. If I don't do it this way I am doomed to cancelling training sessions all the time.

Today I will also read the PhD thesis of my student (viva in next week) and will send her pointers about the viva. Aart from this there will be more writing for the blog and more reading.

Wonder whether I'll find some time for play?

How about putting your training plan into your diary, so your laptop shouts at you when you are working and tells you to stop, get changed, and go running? Used to work for me...

ETA - you might want to out weekends and non-work tine in there too. I know how easy it is to let work take over, so if you have to schedule time to spend with your family, then do it, before they all grow up and leave home...

Sound like a good idea - shall be implemented and tested. Now back to the training programme.
