Hi PAID!
I'm still here but have been on my diary a bit more than here. Debt busting going really slowly for me and not likely to make my target of under 10k by Xmas. Will be lucky to get under 12k. Am being really honest about my debts for the first time (honest to myself) so although I am making some payments, they are just paying off what I am adding to the CC during the month

Hi PAID and CMD. I need to get back on track to be honest. Good idea about posting an update PAID I am going to do the same. So here goes
1. Pay off egg card £729 only £360 to go and i'm hoping to get a big chunk of that paid off tomorrow (payday) it will def be cleared november payday
2. Lose 7lbs (18 wks to Christmas so should do it) ahem don't want to talk about this one
3. Declutter wardrobe (not very dfw but will make me feel better therefore increasing my enthusiasm for debt busting....hopefully) have made a good start on this and have sorted things out so that i can easily pick something to wear for work. i would like some new clothes to wear for work but it's not going to happen this side of christmas
4. Sell 40 items on eBay (that's 10 a month so should be doable) i am doing quite well on ebay at the moment. i don't think i've listed 40 items but the items i am listing are selling. All money made goes straight off my egg card so that's a good incentive for me.
Shall we all post updates to see how we are all doing??Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Well done Starnac - you are doing a good job!
My sig shows that I am nowhere near getting to under 10k by Xmas but OH hs just asked for a transfer to Scotland which would free up £500 extra a month so fingers crossed we should be able to make good dents after XmasTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

i don't feel that i am anywhere near where I want to be. Progress definately feels slow. Maybe it'll feel better once my egg card is gone and i can concentrate on my OD which i'm hoping to have cleared by end of January. I was hoping to have them both cleared by christmas but the OD is bigger than i realised.
how do you feel about a move to Scotland??Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

At least we are both being realistic about what we can clear so thats a good thing
I feel okay about the move to Scotland. The ins and outs of it are on my diary. In a nutshell, it makes financial sense to move there as there are no jobs in Ireland at the moment. We would be about £500 a month better off in Scotland which is quite a bit towards knocking down the debt. That has to be a good thing. I would love to move to Ireand with no debt and a bit saved towards a deposit. That would be lovely.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

long term plan. good thinking. that's what i'm trying to get my head around at the moment is long term thinking. i'm quite an impatient person. i like things to happen NOW if not yesterday but a few things have happened recently that i think has happened in order to teach me patience. so i have tried to sort out everything realistically. i've set a DFD that's still sooner than the snowball gave me but still more realistic. DH and I have also had a good chat about where we see ourselves in the future (5years, 10years and after DD leaves home) and we will be putting things into place (savings etc) to achieve those once we are debt free.
when will you be moving then??Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Well I am impatient as well - really impatient but I don't see any point in us moving to Ireland with no jobs and a lot of debt so we have no choice really. I see the move to Scotland as a more mature move, as we can get rid of the debt quicker and have a better standard of living.
When is your DFD?
OH has to have a chat with his boss, as it isn't as simple as just moving but if all goes well I think Fenruary would be realistic.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
