My OH's motorbike is going to cost over £500 to have the brakes etc fixed... just when I think we are getting on top of things!! Frustrating. I thought I could put on a 0% spend card but they lowered the account limit so not sure I can...

Oh dear saving. Our car has just had to have the brakes done and it cost us nearly £300. I was horrified but I guess I should be grateful that it wasn't a lot more

Right, just got round to this, my goals by 18th December are:
1 debt free still well on track
2 lose one stone (currently x-stone 7 lbs) Less said the better
3 100% Christmas ready Have done some all important thinking about what and who
4 declutter (will put some specific things against this shortly) Have finally done the shredding mountain and have sorted out the food kitchen cupboards

    Happy weekend everyone!

On the transport bill front - why does everything always go wrong at once - even when you have two?!!

Well today I was x stone 9lb which is an improvement!

We are off away for the weekend just OH and I! Should be good - want to have a good time without going made spending wise!

hi cafcgirl - I think the dooyoo rules have changed so definitely investigate before restarting....

We have had an extremely expensive bank holiday weekend

OH and I had a fab time away at the Marriott outside Leeds courtesy of clubcard vouchers - we went round the royal armouries museum which was really good. We also did 18 lengths of the 20m pool so proud of that! On the way home picked up some school uniform for the kids and then once we'd got the kids I took them to get school shoes - and DS also got new football boots and trainers! He is 12 and in size 10s!!! Just footwear was £95 today and that was after I got £10 off!!!

We then joined the gym as a family for a year which was so expensive that I think we will just gloss over that!!! However I am at least 4 stone over weight, OH is more than that overweight, DS is 1 to 1.5 stone over weight and I think DD is borderline. Really hoping this can be our year to sort that out not just sort out our debts...

morning all. i've had an expensive bank holiday too i bought a new (to me) car shhhh i did need one for work though and it wasnt too expensive DH knocked him down a bit too by pointing out every single scratch etc. even DD likes it even though she had told me i had to buy a red one (i bought a blue one) cos "red cars are comfy-er" from the mouths of babes!!!! :rotfl: btw we dont actually know anyone who has a red car so i have no idea where that came from

i weighed myself today as it's been a week since i started my *ahem* diet and i've lost 600g (stupid scales only weighs in kgs) which when converted is 1.3lbs so i'm quite please been as i had cake and black forest gateaux on the weekend . i've dug out my pedometer and my goal is to walk more steps than the day before and i'm hoping that will help me lose weight.

anyway off to check my banks and move money around now as it's the highlight of the month........payday :j

    hope everyone is well
