What do people put in their sandwiches? We've discovered some lovley bread from the local baker, and want to give sandwiches a go next week. Any veggie suggestions?
My favorite is Humous with grated carrots and Jalapeno peppers, hot but very nice. I also like a sandwich with Roasted vegatables - green peppers, courgettes and aubergines

13th brought in lunch for the month today :) Not bad when I consider I've had 4 days holiday so that means a whole working month so far of packed lunches :j
    Sealed Pot Challenge #955
  • had my 2nd and last bought lunch in April yesterday (pot noodle 99p & packet of crisps 46p) first one was a roast dinner I made at work 63p! So both very cheap and within my budget. Luckily have lots of stuff for lunches for next week...

Arghh, am not doing too well this month! Think I will be more realistic in May and allow myself two lunches out.

I'm on target for 16/19 in April  I'm blaming this sunshine! :D

NTBY - I'm usually v boring with sarnies and go for cheese and something.

I've just made a batch of pearl barley risotto so that'll keep me going for the last few days.

Had a bit of a panic earlier when I realised I had nothing in for lunches this week but have borrowed some of my flatmates pasta (can't get much cheaper) and will get my Tesco delivery tomorrow night :)

I've been having cheese, corned beef and pickle sandwiches most of the time, and then having various leftovers when they're there.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
  • This is a great idea. I give my 2 chldren £10/week for lunches, and I spend about £4.50 possibly 3 times a week or just miss lunch and end up raiding cupboards for quick food when I get home. So I can save plenty doing this. I would like to sign up. I new here so do I just keep following the thread?
I am going to make snadwiches for myself and 2 children for at least the rest of April. If I can pull it off I will save £134. That's amazing and quitefrightening.

See how it goes for you for the rest of April, and when the May challenge starts let us know what you will be aiming for and you'll get added to the list for May.
    Good luck.
