Have only just spotted this thread today - have been trying to do thsi anyway but will sign up for May - think I've only had a few bought lunches this month (but did have 2 weeks off for Easter!)Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
Savings for big things £90170 -
I think for May people should be a bit more realistic or allow themselves to buy a few lunches from the shops, I've been thinking as the weather is getting better we're more likely to go out more and the temptation of buying something for lunch will be greater also, so why not allow yourself a treat for the odd day, I'm sure the few pounds spent will make you feel good and help your motivation too.La_escocesa wrote: »Arghh, am not doing too well this month! Think I will be more realistic in May and allow myself two lunches out.
I'm on target for 16/19 in April  I'm blaming this sunshine!
Well we're into the last week, just another few days to go for April, hope it goes well for you.Nearly debt free

I have not bought any lunches so far in April...a few more days and it will be a full month.
This has been mainly due to the fact that I have become more health conscious and have started exercising regularly. This has meant cutting out all take-outs and a complete ban on fast (junk) food.
In terms of sandwiches, I tend to take a lot of tuna sandwiches, with sweetcorn and cucumber...and tuna is always on offer at the supermarkets so I tend it stock up. And I vary the sanwiches with cheese salad and also salads on their own.
By my calculations I am saving roughly a fiver a day.0 -
Well, I'm still on track - however I am off work with a tummy bug!
So not eating much of anything at the moment!! Looking forward to next month's challenge now!!

Oh no Stoney, feel better!!
Wasnt organized so had one of my emergency tins of soup today, which I luckly topped up yesterday. It was better than the ones I had been eating but still a bit sad looking. I'll try to do something more tasty tomorrow.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

I had allowed myself 4 bought lunches this month - and ended up having them ALL last week. So I'm back on the straight and narrow this week and should just reach my target of 18 if I can resist the dreaded Costa Tuna Melts & Blueberry Muffins...May NSDs 10/11 (Feb 8/10, Mar 11/10, April 11/11)May save on lunches challenge 12/18 (Feb 16/16, Mar 20/20, April 18/18)0
