Awww you are sweet Nab. I love this thread too, it's my favourite on MSE.
This thread, the what are you wearing thread are really what are keeping me visiting MSE these days. I am strangely addicted to the debate forum, where i have made friendships that translate into real life, despite the ''robust'' nature of much conversation, but I just love the girly outlet.
I was ashamed o admit to our friends who stayed the weekend that this sort of thread has filled a gap that arrived in my life, first with illness then with moving. I have super real life friends, but in other places, the nearest real bestest type friend works very hard and lives an hour away, most are in London or overseas, some ave moved to the north while I am in the south. It seems we never have time to just chat about things like nail varnish. apart from DH I have no shopping buddies anymore, noone to caution me against the shade of lipstick I so have fallen in love with or to remind me I bought another mascara just two weeks ago....and tbh, I feel a bit too ''old'' to make new local friends like that, and married life, friends getting kids...it all changes anyway as you ''grow up''. But as a childless bird with a penchant for nice smells and bright colours I find chatting with you lot really does fill a gap I didn't really know I missed so much.0 -
LIR, that is so touching. I come here because, lovely though my RL friends are, they aren't interested in saving (and I feel awkward talking about money IRL). Then I discovered all the other wonderful bits of MSE - OldStyle, the H&B forum (despite its difficult renaming lol), Grabbit (ahem), the Arms/DT (although I rarely participate!) and others. But these girly threads are the best and I look forward to reading all your posts, they really make me smile (and LOL sometimes too).
Actually, I guess none of my friends are really into OS living, shabby chic, charity shopping etc either - so this fills a larger-than-expected gap for me. They'll catch up with me eventually lol!!! MSE has taught me so much about life and living and I am very grateful!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

just to join in the love fest......lol
you all seem so lovely! its so nice to see a bunch of lovely non-judgemental people on a forum....if only some could stretch to other threads...2011 wins : Sebo k1 vacuum0 -
Ah, it really is a love fest tonight isn't it!
I come on here all the time (you wouldn't have thought so would you). I like the banter that goes on here. It's slightly less boring than my other home on here (the mfw board) and I find that we don't seem to get any sniping on here.
I like to think that we have helped people with uncontrollable spending too, in our own little way.
I also like the shabby chic thread and the declutter thread. I don't visit the what are you wearing one any more since it was amalgamated into one and I couldn't keep up. That's where I "met" bronnie though (Hi Bron *waves*).

Oooh, I *love* the shabby chic thread!!! I am too scared to visit the declutter one though, but I am in the process of replacing all my plates with new fabby ones, so will be paying a visit to the CS very soon!!!
I also adore the fashionista/what are you wearing thread but feel guilty as I don't keep up very well. It's the fastest moving thread I subscribe to and almost always at the top of the page!!! :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

It is lovely and friendly on this thread isn't it! My "other home" on here is DFW where I am allowed to lurk as I'm not actually a DFW'er, but follow a lot of the same principles! Some lovely people over there, and it's another area that is lovely and friendly for the most part as everyone is very protective of one another.
A use-up to report here today - Avon Anew Clinical Thermafirm cream - WIBA? Yes, I would. This was about the third one of these I;ve had and I do find it suits my combination skin really well. It's also more reasonably priced than many moisturisers. However, I have a couple of mini Clinique ones and then a full size DD cream to go onto so I won't need more for a while yet!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I totally agree with you! I love my 'real' friends muchly but they live miles and miles away and I don't often get to see them. I also don't have kids nor any particular inclination to make friends around here as I've not really met anyone I click with iyswm. I do have quite a social job so plenty of people to chat to (although lots are dirty old men :rotfl:) and my ex is being suspiciously nice at the mo too (up to something no doubt  - trying to avoid him). Don't really have time to go on an evening course and certainly wouldn't be able to commit every week (stupid hours). I only really stayed here for my OH who has a daughter nearby or I would have moved back home years ago! So it's really lovely being able to chat to you lot. So thanks for making me feel a little less lonely!
Sorry...a bit of a random chain of thoughts :rotfl:I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -
Ah - but a lovely random chain of thoughts !!!
Im stuck at work with an all nighter on fluid therapy, so no bath and botanics body butter for me this evening - but I will finish at 8.30,go home via feeding the horses, then jump in the bath before I go for a snoozle (no doubt under at least one dog!) so will cover myself in it then....
had anotehr couple of texts from the man who i gave up on yesterday - one telling me how he got on with the appointment, the next to ask me a schooling question. my answer - "it'll come".... !!!!!! !!!!! (and I seem to have replaced him with a very nice,im in little doubt that he fancies me(iyswim!!) not very poor man..... so we shall just have to see what comes of that !! ( and I had my ex on the phone tonight too - not sure whats going on there, havent heard from him for ages!!)
keep it up everyone!!!!
