How does your savings pot work for you - do you put in the same amount as you've spent out on new stuff or the cost of the items you've used up? I like the idea of a getting a little reward system going myself :T
Thanks, I did keep trying to justify it as either borthday treats, or holiday spend, or soemthing else. Unfortunately I also tried that with lots of new clothes and jewellery as well, not sure it all counts :rotfl:
Whatever I buy, I put the same amount in a savings pot - it's like a little punishment, and (in theory!) makes bargains look less attractive, as it's even more money out of my main spending account. I also put in something for every product I use up - but not the actual price (I'd be broke!). When I use something up I put in anythign between 50p and £5, depending on the size, and brand.
Everyone seems to have a slightly different system, just do whatever works for you. I like Tara's system of putting in the actual cost when something is used up, and taking out money if she buys anything, but I want to grow my savings pot a fair bit (it'd be empty now after NY!), as I've now decided it's all going towards expenses for my best friends wedding (I'm a bridesmaid) - train fares, hotels, facials in advance etc.

fixx, glad you enjoyed NY, sounds like you got some great new products!
I did have a great time, but I have to admit, I've gotten so used to my new beauty regime that it was quite nice to get back, and have access to all my face masks, body scrubs etc, not just the bits I took. I've covered myself in so much stuff since I got back!
On the plus side, I potentially have a new man, and he seems to like the effectsSuffice to say, we have not been as restrained as Trudi
Trudi - I love reading your updates, keep them coming, and hope the next date goes well and he's not a control freak!0 -
Just used up a 5ml protect and perfect serum. WIBA?: Have another mini in stock and a full sized one waiting to be opened. Will use up the mini first I think.
I also have the night cream but as I still haven't manged to use up the sample pot, I'm wondering what to do with it? I don't really want to waste £20 on something that I won't use. I do like the day serum for night time as well but don't think I ought to be using it all the time. I'm also aware that you get 50ml in the night cream tub and only 30 of the day serum so that works out nearly double the price.
Maybe I'll just have a look when I have actually used up the sample one I have. I also have another sample of night cream, is it the time delay one that came in the wrap? Not sure.
Alternatively I could save the wrap as a gift for someone but don't think that everyone would appreciate it. Thanks for the advice on your savings/rewards pots ... a friend and I are planning a spa day later in the year so this would be a nice way to save up for a really indulgent treatment - cheers for the tips!0

Yes! We're all waiting with baited breath to see who can actually finish a nail polish - I'm not sure it's possible!0 -
I've not posted in a while but I am still trying to do this. I have finished a Boots Coconut and Almond leave in conditioner. WIBA - yes it was cheap and works well on my unruly hair. I have also finished a Soap & Co hand and body cream. WIBA - I'm not sure, it was better than I thought it would be, it was a gift from someone but I think it is quite expensive and I can think of other creams that are just as good for the price.
I had a bit of an accident today as some Sanctuary bath oil leaked all over my toiletries stash. I have wiped everything down and all I have had to chuck away was two hessian bags for life that the stash was in, a nail file and the cosmetic bag from an Occitane gift set. The only thing I was really upset about was the toiletries bag - I may have to buy a gift set in another fragrance.
I have had a bit of a bad month and have splashed out on some Body shop cucumber cleanser and some Lush Bohemian soap.0 -
Caramac, did you try washing the bags for life and cosmetics bag in the washing machine?
I do not believe its possible to finish a nail varnish. Ergo, I have too many nail varnishes!0 -
Hi Ffix, which OPI colours did you buy? I'm a sucker for Clinique, Benefit and OPI when in the States myself too. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
