I painted my finger nails today with OPI Thank you Muchness. It's nice but think I'll save it for on my toes. I have a similar colour in a bigger bottle - this mini bottle brush is ideal for toes.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

no more dates to report yet - though he rang me Friday night ( Id left my phone at the house!) and didnt answer when i phoned him back Sat (admittedly not till about 12 !!) and like an idiot, when he rang me back and after Id said where i was, he said "you're at the point to point?? were you ringing earlier to see if I wanted to come?? Sorry - I would have done,,but I didnt know it was on..." muggins here, instead of saying "yes - but its almost over now,so ot to worry" comes out with " no - I was returning your call from last night, im sorry I didnt answer, but I was at a ball with my friend...." to which I got "oh. didnt you think Id want to come??" OOPS.... no - i thought it might be a bit too "coupley", and Id bought the ticket ages ago!! :rotfl:mind you, if he thinks he can have a strop cos I havent asked him anywhere either he thinks of us as a couple, or hes a trainee control freak....

but hes going to phone me this week and we are going out  - so guess I'll find out which one it is, and if hes a trainee control freak, then he can be on his bike !!!

WAY more important things to think about than wether or not hes throwing his toys - like why doesnt my cinnamon buns bubble bath smell after it goes in the water.... ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl:

You have the right attitude, get on with your life and have exciting things to do rather than waiting by the phone for him to call! This is also irresistible to men! :D

roshydoshy, best skin tip is to stay out of the sun and fake it! But I don't want to get all preachy on you. No idea what to use as I never use sunbeds, but I'm sure someone will be able to advise xo

I know i know i shouldn't do it, but i'm a fidgiter so i'll be in and out of the pool, scuba diving and desert treks so won't be able to stay out of the sun - so i'm thinking to prepare a base tan will be better than to burn (never have before so fingers crossed i don't this time!), i can't explain myself properly but there is a method to my madness! I'll only be using it once, maybe twice a week in the month before hand so i'm not doing hour long sessions 5 days a week!

I might just go to the mercy of the one in the shop!

I am the same, it is very tricky. I am a huge fan of hats and SPF50!! I do inevitably get a bit of colour but thankfully I don't burn.

Hi all – I’ve been awol for a couple of weeks, but it was because I was on holiday for my birthday (1 week in New York, yay!:j) and then catching up with people when I got back…
Thanks for all the birthday messages before!

    So, confessions and updates…

I was quite bad in NY. I didn’t buy anything to take with me toiletry wise, I just brought stuff I already had. However, when I was there I splurged a little (!!). I bought:
    • StriVectin overnight resurfacing serum @£40 – it’s cheaper there than here, and has amazing reviews! I don’t think I’ve ever bought toiletries at that price before, so it had better work! It was an bit of an impulse buy – I was on holiday, in shopping mode, didn’t really think about it… :o Oh dear.
    • Clinique Superbalanced foundation @ £14 and superpowder double powder @ £12.50 – These are essentials for me, and I’d used up both. Also it was Bonus time in Macy’s, and it’s much cheaper to buy Clinique in the US.
    • Clinique Bonus time included: 2 bags, lipstick, sample of Dramatically Different lotions, duo eye shadow, sample of Derma White Brightening Moisture Cream, and mini High Lengths Mascara. (see below for uses so far)
    • Benefit “Stay don’t Stray” @£18 and “confessions of a concealaholic” kit @ £24 – I’ve wanted Stay don’t Stray for a while, as I hate eye make up not lasting when drinking/partying/clubbing, and I’d run out of boing, and wanted to try Erase paste, so got the kit. Again, slightly cheaper than buying here, and they did give me some free samples of “Hello Flawless”…:p
    • 2 Opi nail polishes - £6 each. I hadn’t bought new colours in ages, I couldn’t resist. I really didn’t need them, but really did want them. Great colours and great names too – I’ll check and update…
So that’s a total spend of £120.50 so far for April  Very, very naughty… Sorry girls :o

Anyway, I have also used stuff up:
    • time delay eye crème – finally! It ended up kind of exploding in a bag while away overnight for work, so got used as hand crème. WIBA? Nope. Pretty much useless I reckon.
    • olay eye pods (about 8 free samples in total :)) WIBA? Nope – odd, and did nothing.
    • Clarins eye cream sample. WIBA? No. Can’t remember exactly what it was, it made so little an impression on me.
    • Elemis eye serum sample. WIBA? Hmm, maybe… Not bad, I’m just not sure it’s worth the price.
    • Hair dye – the one I bought near end of March. WIBA? I’ll buy/use any hair dye on offer, honestly have never seen the difference between any brands…
    • Hair highlight kit – had been tucked away for a while. Think it was Garnier. WIBA? Yes, have used before, probably will again.
    • Clinique mini high impact mascara – very old and quite dry, so I replaced it with my new clinque sample of the high lengths mascara, which is fab. WIBA? I do really like it actually, but don’t need to buy another, I’ve got more mini ones stashed away… I honestly have not bought mascara in several years!
    • Sample of Clinique Dramatically different lotion – from the bonus time above, quickly decanted into my big lotion pump bottle. WIBA? Always do :)
    • Clinique lipstick – from the bonus time, given away to a friend. I never wear lipstick, and she needed a new one in a similar colour, so she got a lipstick for free, I decluttered slightly, and we both felt good :)
    • Clinique Superbalanced foundation. WIBA? Already did! The bottle lasts ages, and the foundation gives great coverage without feeling heavy, and stays well on my skin. Love it.
    • Mini P&P serum (5ml) – another! I think I’ve only got one mini one left, then it’s just the full size tube. WIBA? Don’t need to for a while! But yes – I do think this has made a visible difference to lines on my forehead and neck.
    • Other odds and ends not worth commenting on:
Superdrug wax strips – too old, so they got binned, H&S Shampoo, Free sachet of face serum that came with BS order.
I’ve quite a few others things that are *almost* done, just getting the last dregs out.
The new Clinique products I bought won’t get used just yet, as I’m using up another old face powder (nowhere near as good) and I’m using up my stash of foundation samples and tinted moisturisers before I open my new foundation. That could take a while.

Phew, sorry for the mammoth post! I feel better now I’ve actually confessed, and my savings pot has swelled by £142.50 as a result of my naughty spending, and using up. So it’s more than doubled in about 2 weeks!

Hope everyone one is doing well, and feeling very beautiful and pampered.
  • Hey fixx - don't blame you having a fun spend up in NY - how can you resist all those goodies over there - everyone deserves lovely holiday treats (esp if they are a little bit cheaper over there!) How does your savings pot work for you - do you put in the same amount as you've spent out on new stuff or the cost of the items you've used up? I like the idea of a getting a little reward system going myself :T

I've used up a No7 face mask - the one that heats up - WIBA - yes I like it but not £10 ish like!! I bought this one in the autumn with a No7 voucher and money on my giftcard and I'd only buy again the same.

fixx, glad you enjoyed NY, sounds like you got some great new products!

moneytalking, we all do things differently. I put money into my savings pot for everything I use up - the actual value for full size items and £1 for mini sizes. See my sig! It's scary what I have actually used up.
