had my 1st glass of wine since ash wednesday yesterday celebrating my closest friends 50th anniversary, boy did it taste good:):):)

LOL, I also had my first glass of wine today, after 8 weeks! I agree, tasted delicious. I wonder if I have now retrained myself into believing one glass savoured is more pleasurable than knocking back the best part of a botttle in those flippin massive great wine glasses (Hmm! Dream on!!!)
Easing off my strict diet in anticipation of the hols, I also had a dessert today of panne cotte with poached early rhubarb in a little pink syrup and with an almond biscotti. It tasted as divine as it looked.

Back to toiletries I am about to finish the L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner and will have a what-to-buy-next dilemma when I come back from hols, as used lavishly, it has given me very good results this week.

I have also been very extravagant, using my Protect and Perfect night cream on my hands for the last few days in order to avoid the Madonna-aged-hands scenario. It does give results, but is an inexcusable extravagance other than for special occasions, which this is. Someone on another thread said that Poundlands "Pure" range is actually Boots stuff and that the Pure firming cream £1 has a No 7 label underneath! That would do for a quid!!

My stash is slowly going down, I've finished off my shower gel and not replaced, I have body scrubs and soap to use. Have almost finished one Lush soap and my Garnier firming lotion - which I will buy more of and alternate with BS butter, so my skin gets nice and soft.

hello everyone, hope you have al had a good easter - not too many easter eggs i hope.
Welcome to all newbies - pinkandwhites - i too used to save my best stuff for special occasions - ended up throwing away a lovely cinema body lotion as it had gone off - learnt my lesson and now use even the nicest stuff daily

Girls world - i had one of those - think this is the root of makeu obsession.

have bored all my friends silly with tales of this challenge, no-one has said they will join me and one friend said she didn't really have that much stuff, but when i went to her house her bathroom was like a branch of boots - in denial i think!

will keep going with the challenge. have still only bought one thing since xmas a travel size shampoo i needed when i went on a had luggage only trip.

    have used up the following:
small tube of aveda hand relief WIBA yes smell of orange, have another to use up, currently on my desk in work
Nivia Q10 lotion - wiba yes like nivia products was a small sample size
ted baker bubble bath - wiba maybe quite nice smell but not a luxury product
Eve taylor palm and camomile moisturiser - wiba was a freebie sachet, not a bad product but the sample was so small difficult to se if was any good.

off now to have a pamper night before work tomorrow

Hello all, welcome to all the newbies and procrastinator glad we have cheered you up a little. Toiletries front nothing else used up but i am having a bath once my eldest is in bed and after Eastenders :p, so maybe then. Must say im glad the bank holiday is nearly over so i can get out and about more with the kids, dh has been really hard work the last few days and we could do with a break:(. Did take ds1 out for the day today and popped into boots, but was very restrained indeed, no toiletries , just nappies wipes and nicotine replacement for the dh. But there were some bargains lurking around.

    Mariage by Amarige ?? £4.99
    Kylie Diamonds (i think) 9.99
Mini gorgeous feet intensive moisturisers for 99p (was very tempted as only have 2 in stock but will use my truckload of moisturisers instead)

Lots of energy bars / protein bars reduced plus sweetners etc.

A few months ago i would have bought them all:o.

    Anyways see you later

    Nab

    xx

  • Hi everyone, just resisted ordering anything from my friend's Avon catalogue this time - she was a bit stunned as I ALWAYS order something! Only a small victory I know but a big step in keeping me on track with this month's challenge.

Will hopefully use up some more almost-finished-mini and travel size bottles this evening and tomorrow. Have quite a few standing upside down on the side of the bath at the moment lol

I'm really loving this thread and its really helping me to keep motivated with hearing how others are doing and all the recommendations. Thanks everyone!

You know, I think this is more common than we realise. I never considered myself that bad at all as I only have one small(ish) drawer in my bedroom desk full, and one larger drawer in the bathroom full of my things, but when I wrote down all I have it seemed like a heck of a lot more. It's amazing how it builds up, and how you get used to having it round. I was aware that I had a bit too much cleanser and body moisturiser, but nowhere near as much as I have. Once I've blasted this lot, I will try to keep to the 'one in use, one in reserve' rule, and if I buy a bit more cos there's a special offer on, I will make sure that it never builds up again like it has done this time. It's crazy!

    hi girls :D
i'm still in.where has all the time gone? ive bought NOTHING except a bottle of vit e oil. still working through stuff. it's never ending.

i'm sorely tempted by the vichy retinol/hyaloronic range. these ingrediants work but whether theyre in enough quantity in the product to make a difference is another matter. but i really really want. :(

just had my lovely relaxing bath - in the true spirit i started using up a sanctuary body lotion that i had in a gift set xmas 2008 ( i know, i know thats why i am on here!) was ok on my legs yesterday, but today after applying liberally 5 mins later my arms and bum were on fire! had to have a cold shower to wash the damn stuff off! - think one for the bin.
