Thanks Tara, Garnier. I think that did well in Beauty Bible beauty steals actually. Will put that on my list to buy, when I have no self tan stash...

I love it. I recently bought a Dove one in the £ shop so will give that a go as everyone raves about it. But will not be experiementing tonight... with a wedding to go to tomorrow I can't afford a tanning disaster! :rotfl: I'll be sticking with the Garnier on this occasion. What's the Beauty Bible beauty steals? (I'm not sure if I should be asking this lol)

Well done on all the no spends/using up everyone, and welcome to the newbies! trudi, thanks for the tip. :A

I have just binned a 'stimulating body scrub' from Primark (cream tub with 'Innersense' label), as it doesn't scrub!! It has the tiniest grains EVER and is completely useless. I'd had it for ages, used it once or twice when I bought it and it was so rubbish I just left it sitting there. I gave it one more chance today in the shower - it is truly only fit for the bin. Absolutely NO point in using it at all. WIBA: no way!! What a waste of £1. This really reminds me not to waste my money on crap products, no matter how cheap. Anyway, that's £1 into the toiletry pot (will update sig) and a warning to you ladies not to touch it with a barge pole!!

sorry to butt in, but on the subject of tanning lotions and potions i also have tried nearly every product on the market! i have found that tesco's own brand of tanning lotion (usually costs about 1.60 so pretty cheap!) gives a very subtle colour and doesn't streak ! for a more intense tan i like to use fake bake beyond bronze (not as dark as the name implies!) as it is coloured and gives a golden glow straight away (also helps you to see where you are applying it so no streaks) and smells like rosewater! you can get it online for £10ish but it is worth it as a bottle lasts forever, and as it is effective, I don't waste money trying out any others anymore! And another similar one as this is a new one i've found, about the same price online, same colour when applying but it has NO SMELL whatsoever- amazing lol its called libravitesse or something?! will update this when i get home and find the bottle :) hth someone and i am not advocating buying them if you are happy with a product you use currently, but if you are looking to try some new fake tans out for the summer, maybe this will save someone money on this front! :)

Butt away all you want, all tips/reviews are welcome :rotfl:

I have tried that Tesco one too (cream tube with blue lid IIRC, is that the one?) and it is pretty good. I'm hoping the Dove one is good as my local Poundland stocks lots of it and for £1 I will be stocking up if it works. I think I only have one Garnier left in stock.

I can't comment on 'traditional' fake tan as I never use it, only the 'hint of fake tan' lotions.

nope i will have to try that one! is that a gradual one? this is an actual self tan lotion but the effects are more similar to the gradual ones so is great at this time of year when you don't want to be obviously fake tanned! it's in a goldy bronze bottle, similar to the solait bottle of superdrug's version

    Hi procrastinator - welcome !!!

I had one of those warming body things - all I will say is be careful not to get it on your hair - i accidently caught the ends of mine with it, and it completely wrecked my hair.... I ended up having to get it cut miles up to get rid of the broken and old bits - was a nightmare !!!

    .. ;)
Thanks for the warning Trudij I have long hair so will be careful.
I haven't used a product like this before so can you say how often you would use it? It doesn't say on the pot. Is it a daily, weekly, monthly thing? I usually only use tesco cheapy stuff (which is insane when I think how many gels etc I have been bought for birthdays xmas and like others been saving for heavens knows what.)

There was a book about 10 years ago called The Beauty Bible. They then wrote 2 books called Beauty Bible Beauty Steals, one about 5 years ago and another one about a year ago. The limit for products in the Beauty Steals books is under/around a tenner or fiver I think.
Both the Garnier Summer Body and the Tesco self tan the other poster mentioned done well. You know I think our thread may start influencing people out there, cos I cannot now buy the double faced cotton wool from Boots!

Sadly I didn't get on with Dove, bit streaky but since then I have been pampering with body butter so now it may be ok for me.

Going to dig out the St Tropez gradual tan. Got it on offer in Boots, think the face gradual tan came free or something.

Oh heck, now you are asking - ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - I think I used it once a week, but this was a couple of years back,WAY before this challenge,so I doubt I was using it properly. It made my skin nice and soft, and was definately warming - but like I said- just make sure you keep your hair well out of the way unless you fancy a go at fancy dress as Worzel Gummidge!! :rotfl:
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

Glad you enjoyed your wine, well done on the restraint!!

On the subject of warming body masks, I forgot to say - I got the clay one from the Body Shop. Turns out you have to get wet, then apply it, THEN stand around for 15 mins before washing it off!! Imagine how freezing that would be in this weather! Definitely one for the summer I think.
