I think you are doing the right thing, but please do rehome her via a reputable rescue, not via the free ads or to a friend of a friend - she needs a home that can really cope with a puppy, and she needs that cough sorting out first.
Also, she needs her next home to be a permanent, responsible one, that will work on her training and ensure she is spayed when the time is right... sadly, some people do look out for free/cheap young dogs to churn out a few pups for cash, usually without having the money for vets bills etc in case of complications...0 -
I think you have made the right choice for you ignore anyone who slates you they aren't in your position! Just make sure she goes to someone who will give her the home she deserves.
good luck

I know, I understand, and I will certainly be careful where I go to.0 -

Selfish???
You are the one in your family who is facing up to problems and seeking sensible ways through them. You are not running away or hiding in a bottle, so well done you xx You are doing what you think best for Poppy, you love her and want a secure future for her.
Remember if you need help with rehoming you just need to ask, there are lots on here who have good contact with reputable rescues that will help find Poppy a home for life. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Yes please, I need someone to tell me the best place to contact, near Maidstone Kent for a young lab.
This is so much harder even just typing it than I thought it would be,0 -

Do tell them about the dogs cough, and any other health issues, so they can make an informed decision re: her care...

Emsy listen to FC. She will be easier to rehome and will adapt better if you do it now.

I really feel for you.
For what it is worth, when I first read your starting post I thought that re-homing the puppy would be the best option.
After hearing more about your difficult situation I think this even more. Do not feel bad, or worry about criticism. Your priority right now is YOU and dd, and the baby when it comes. The pup is young enough to find a good new home and you are doing the right thing by doing so now rather than further down the line.0 -
