  • whoops forgot to upload it. There you go.
  • I don't think I've ever done as much planning for anything, 4 days now :) I've used the oven wall layout as suggested by ic and a opposite corner inspired by edgex by moving the table to the alcove and extending the worktop round the corner. I'm pretty happy with this layout now. There seems to be a good fridge/larder->prep->oven route. The dishwasher and washing machine is nice and close to the water pipes and dishes left by the sink should easily find their way into the dishwasher. Theres some cupboards and drawers next to the oven for pans, cutlery and cooking utensils. Household cleaning stuff could go in the pull out baskets behind the door.

    am I done now?

For those that don't have the planner, is this a workable arrangement for a corner? I'm not sure if it's possible to have a corner unit like that up against an appliance./QUOTE]

free standing appliances, tend to be the full depth of a worktop, if not slightly protruding (depending on your pipework behind), so that would mean you wouldnt be able to open the door to the left of the machine

is that a 1000 unit you would be putting to the left of the washing machine, but you only put a door on the end showing?, is so if you went for a shorter door, on a 180 hinge, and then put a planking strip down the front of the cupboard (to cover up the gap) the door would clear the washing machine, and open out flat against the drawer unit, giving you better access to the rear depths - however it will still be quite a waste of the corner space, as it wont be that easy to get into

I can't see it working putting a washing machine in the corner like that - you'll need to be able to open the door wide, and its likely the cupboard won't open properly as washing machines can be quite deep. Here's another layout based on your actual plan you provided above:

The cupboard under the sink is the smaller 50 wide unit, so no waste sort, however you could still fit rational pull out bins for the same purpose. This also means a smaller sink, but you have a dishwasher anyway so less need for a big sink.

Tweaked for none-built in fridge freezer and microwave, makes it a bit more open (haven't put built in microwave, but a 60 wall unit on the bottom could hold one, otherwise you've plenty of worktop space for one):

A few tweaks here and there but it wasn't far off this...

Used a combination of a few of the ideas in this thread. Your layout of the base units along with the neat wall units suggested by a previous poster (can't remember in which post). Working on the lighting now... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2399689

I have a similar door design in my kitchen. If I had to do it over again, I'd have smooth doors without the "frame" bit, as they are simply additional bits to catch dirt and grease.
