Most of us who were over on the test site didn't agree with this tbh. The was an 'invisible' function you could activate which meant you could be online but others would not see where you were or what you were looking at.

This function was disabled so that we all had to be seen. I still don't agree that this was the right thing to do, I think we all should be able to choose whether to be seen or not, I think it very unfair that the choice is made for us.

    'who's online' is very inaccurate.

If you leave mse, it still marks you as doing your last activity for a further 15 minutes.

So if you're like me and pop in and out through the day for a minute or two when you have a spare minute, it can appear you've been here the entire day:eek:

So if you click on someone's green dot, does that mean you can have a live chat with whoever the dot belongs to?

Not even trying it now, as I'm about to log off (despite the fact that the online thingy might take a while to catch up ;)) but maybe tomorrow those of us who are up for it might have a play around?

    Night all xx

I keep three pages of mse open on my pc permanently. This helps me to access them easily.

My children also use the pc.

They are well aware that if they delete my open pages they risk getting no sweets / money for phone cards / money for cinema etc etc for at least a fortnight..........so there are many times when I appear to be on-line, but the only person you may be able to contact is an eleven year old who's arms and legs have outgrown the rest of his body, and his best shot at conversation is a grunt whilst he tosses his hair out of his eyes

Not sure about the green dot, bogof_babe, but I think it's just to tell you whether or not a member is on-line.......They may well be making the tea, or they may have popped to the loo, or their teenager may be using the pc.

I think it just tells us if someone is logged in to the site. But then again I may be wrong. If I am, someone please correct me.
