And yours is nowhere near as solid as mine in the middle. (Nor is Rikki's). There's something not quite right, although I'm not disappointed for a first cake. I did try to make sure I got lots of air in it....sifted the flour and whisked it a lot. What's your secret?

I also do a mean means on toast !!!!
I think yours is fantastic. I'm well impressed. ANd yours is a genuine MSE cake (although I see it says 'me' on it now). Which is just as it should be. Just don't eat it all at once!!

I think you deserve an extra mse star now - better than michelin stars hey?

We only photographed the slice that looked the best.

Maybe it could of done with a few more minutes cooking time? You can't tell sometimes its just one of thos things. I've had some real disasters.

Don't be down on yourself its a great looking cake. I'm sure there alot of people on this site wouldn't even attempt to cook as you have done.

I couldn't eat it all at once. That one slice is all I've eaten all day and I'm stuffed.

Well, I'd need a bit of forewarning to get the right utensils etc but will cancel any prior engagements to synchronise pie making.
