I suspect the first one must have rang round, as they were all exceptionally good stores.
Such a cynicI'm generally happy to believe that people are good at their jobs. Having worked in a couple of places that are pretty regularly mystery shopped by big companies, reports could often be somewhat unfair and it would sometimes seem like the shopper had completely missed the personal level of service (ie they'd complain cos we hadn't offered finance but not even mention that we spent 20 minutes with them on shop floor offering one on one service when the store was heaving). So whenever I ms I certainly stick within the brief but I always give staff the benefit of the doubt - if they appear to be good at their jobs I assume it's because they are!

I understand what you are saying, but the egg shop scenario is well past it's sell by date. I have twice felt that I was expected back in for my complaint. The staff then go though the script for a return. It surely isn't helping anyone to play charades like this.0 -

I agree that scenarios can grow old but there's bound to be sometime when someone comes in and genuinely says that their sandwich is off and their biscuits broken! What you learn when working in retail is that customers are weird. I was certainly never on the look out for ms-ers because frankly I was too busy concentrating on my job (and real customers do much odder things). In smaller stores like the egg shops it's a slightly different story. But then again, if they clock you and then do their jobs properly everyone's happy!0 -
A favour to ask anyone who is doing this current wave of travel shops for Gap.
Been in hospital for a few days - not been too well - and have just got back to see an email from Gap saying about the website work this weekend and to print off the assignment details beforehand. Of course, only just got to reading the email and the Gap site is down, LOL.
Would anyone be able to let me know what the scenario is for the wave? I know all the other info, such as where it is, what to do etc, but I know they ask you to go with a set scenario.......
Just my luck LOL0 -

Egg shops aren't too bad, it's the TNS pubs that get me. They've had the same food and drink to order in the scenario for ages, and when I did this one last week as soon as I ordered my meal the manager came over from the other side of the bar and asked the barman if he upsold the drink and the fries.0 -
I've done over 40 egg shops now and i have to say I've been impressed by the service. Only had one really bad shop and a couple of average shops. The rest have been excellent. The local one down the road has always been really good, even before i started MSing. Checkouts can be a wee bit slow sometimes as they like to blether but thats not a problem.0

I know someone who used to work for them and they are supposed to blether if the customer wants to. Sometimes they are the only people that the wee old folk talk to in a day0 -

There is a choice of 9 scenarios. I don't have a scanner but I could send a photo if no one else has on - let me know if you need it0 -
